THE 10 CLOSEST Hotels to Park Güell, Barcelona

Hotels near Park Güell

The quirky colorful mosaics and undulating curves of Park Güell are a signature of the legendary Catalan architect Antoni Gaudi, who designed many of the features in this park. Officially opened in 1926 and initially planned as a district for the rich, it is now one of the city's most popular attractions and a great representation of Catalan modernism. The entrance with two fairytale-like houses and the iconic salamander fountain are the most busy. Tickets are required to enter the park.

    Great place
We went in a side entrance, steep stairs going up, took about 10 mins, there was no queue, and everything was downhill from there. Really pleasant walk, lots of shade opportunity, really pretty, and we did this before the Guell cases, so a great intro. We were there for 9.30am, once we got to the main entrance, it got busy. Enjoyed it and glad we went, it was great.

One of Gaudi’s masterpieces great picnic spots.
Stunning park however you need at least half a day to enjoy it at its peak. It would be awesome to pack a picnic basket and enjoy the entire park for a good few hours. We didn’t do enough research and I wish we had known this prior cos we went 2 hours before closing and would have liked more time there. Views are amazing from the monument viewing section. Gaudi was an absolute genius. PS. It’s a steep walk to the top so carry water esp in summer.

Prepare for a hike and beautiful sights
When you go here, prepare like for a small hike, as this place is up on a steep hill and it's a big garden you need time to explore fully. Make sure to grab the map at the entrance. The garden is big and has many sights to see, it is advisable to come here either in the morning or as out of season as you can, otherwise you can't see much of the sights due to tourists. The architecture is impressive and placed perfectly around the park.

    Cool Gaudi Park in Barcelona
Definitely visit here when you are in Barcelona. It's commutable by several bus lines from Placa Catalunya (takes about 30 minutes) and has multiple dwellings and structures created by Gaudi and his architect frient. You need about 90 minutes to see everything inside the park. My one recommendation is that you bring your own snacks and drinks as there are none for sale inside the park.

    worth the visit
you need to book in advance before arriving barcelona so you can be able to find the time and the day your looking for . i recommend to take the 9 am during summer time less crowded and before the heat . you would need at lease an hour and 30 min inside the park . i don't recommend to book a tour . you can just tour it by yourself and you can pick up the map when you enter and you can always google and read before you go

Pretty park but very hot weather and overcrowded!!!
We originally had it scheduled for 4:30 PM, but decided to get in earlier around 11:30 AM and they did let us in. The park is vast and really overcrowded in July. It was a Sunday. It was a very hot day so we try to walk through it really fast. Overall it was very nice to see the statues the bench, the arcs and the mosaics.

    Instagram park
Booked tickets ahead of time for 4pm, they aren't very expensive. We spent about an hour here walking around and enjoying the funky architecture and visiting the main attractions of the park. Quite a way from old Barcelona, so we took a cab to and from for comfort in the heat. Nice to see once, not sure if I would return though. Quite a few tourists taking photos at the instagrammable spots and lines to get into the buildings at the front gate (front gate at the exit was the busiest). The entrance to the park is up the street to the right of the main gate. Main gate is the exit.

    Crowded and busy
To begin with I would like to share that access to the park is kind of difficult as you have to walk from the nearest parking about 8 minutes on inclined road or steps, so by the time you reach you are all sweaty. The crowds are fighting for the best pose/ picture so you can really enjoy the architecture. I paid €13 but I don’t think it was really worth it…

    Nice park, with nice view.
Great park, tickets must be bought in advance. It requires a bit of fitness because there are a lot of height differences. Entrance to the museum is not included in the price of the entrance ticket. Really special architecture and wonderful landscapes. People in moderation because only a certain number of people can enter at a certain hour. The site is on a high hill and it is not worth going there on foot.

    Destroying tires
Great tour, but locals “punched my tire with a knife since our license plate was foreigner plate@ exactly this was the line of the tire shop I used to replace a punched tire. Showed the blade size next to the rim’s outer side. Expensive parking, since I have parked on a residential street legally. €515 for two tires Pirelli P7. NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE IN BARCELONA….mean local people…
