We stayed here for 3 nights in October and were pleasantly surprised at how good it was for the price. We didn't take breakfast however, so cannot comment on the food. Rooms were a decent size, big enough for 2. Twin beds were generous in size and comfortable. Decor was just a little tired in the room which is the reason for 4 star and not 5. That and the fact there is no tea/coffee making facilities in the room (but I think that is pretty common for a lot of Barcelona hotels). Luggage can be left securely on departure day. Hotel is 5 min walk from CLOT metro station, so really handy. We bought a '10 use' metro ticket with no time expiration. Hotel is 15 min walk to The Sagrada Familia which is superb. Lots of eating places very near for dinner or early morning coffee. I'd definitely recommend this hotel. Staff are very welcoming and helpful.

I was really sceptical about staying in this hotel after reading numerous reviews on different websites. However, it was a fantastic experience. We were greeted by Aleix on our first day and he was more than helpful for the duration of our stay. The room was beautiful we had a top floor terraced room which was spacious, clean and comfortable. We stayed for 4 days and every single day our room was cleaned, bed made, fresh towels left and even more tea or coffee if we had used it which really surprised me! It was lovely to come home after a long day of exploring the city to a nice fresh and clean room. The pool and gym facilities are small but they do the job. Everything is within walking distance of the hotel but we don’t mind walking long distances, the clot metro station is very close which we used to take us more central and then start our walking. The metro also has a direct route to the airport which is very useful! Overall fantastic experience! Some of the reviews don’t do this hotel justice!! We will definitely be back! Thank you again especially Aleix.

We have just got back from a 4 night stay here.

Overall the hotel is a very clean hotel in a prime location for visiting Barcelona! Very close to the Sagrada Familia, close to the metro stations and about a half hour walk to Barcelona zoo! Our room was rather small, but we didn’t need anything bigger! We also had a balcony overlooking the street in front of the hotel.

Check in process was very quick and efficient! We were told about the different lifts for different floors and where breakfast was and the timings etc!

Hotel staff were friendly enough to us, although there was one man on reception who kept snapping at the other staff and one set of customers in front of us. Other than that we had no negative experience with the staff.

The pool area really is tiny, and very overlooked by surrounding buildings, we found it much better to just go down to the beach for the day!

The hotel breakfast was where we were most let down! Such a small choice of hot food, most mornings, the fruit/meats/cheeses/hot food were not replenished after they’d been eaten. So we ended up going without those items most mornings! Also only choice of fruit juice in the morning is orange - no other juices.

Our room was very clean, super comfortable bed - only given 1 pillow each though. The cleaners were very friendly and always gave us fresh towels! Had the perfect amount of plug sockets too and had them on either side of the bed! The air conditioning in the room was the best we’ve had in Spain, kept the room really cool while we were out exploring the city!

TOP TIP - close the bathroom door at night, there’s a large window in there, if you keep the door open the sun will wake you up as there’s no curtains or blinds to block out the sun in the bathroom!

Overall we enjoyed our stay and definitely found it value for money, I do think you get slightly more than what you pay for here! We do plan to come back again later in the year!

Dear clarityzefeldis, Thank you for sharing the experience of your stay through the Tripadvisor website, your instructions will be very useful for our future guests. Your comment is written with great care and is the best feedback we can receive from our guests. We are pleased to know your references to the friendliness of the staff and impressions that will be very useful to improve our service. We regret your indications regarding breakfast, in general, before a product is finished we try to have it replaced. Regarding the juices, we have a total of 3 varieties, natural orange juice, apple juice and pineapple juice, although on other days we may have a variety more. We will follow your indication to improve what is indicated. We are pleased to know you enjoy the temperature with the air conditioning, so important these hot days. Remember that there is a team working 24 hours a day to be able to provide, for example, if you need more pillows. We love knowing that you will stay with us again, it is what we like to read the most when our guests leave the hotel. Again, thanks for sharing your words and see you very soon ;) Best regards, Evelyn Mata Assistant manager

My 10 year old son and I just returned from a 4 night trip to Barcelona, where we had the pleasure of staying at this hotel.

Firstly the location is excellent, a 2 minute walk from clot metro station meaning the commute from the airport was a breeze, as was getting around the city. There is also a large Westfield shopping centre just a 10 minute walk away, with lots of restaurants, shops and a wonderful CarreFour supermarket.

The hotel is spotlessly clean, with maid service everyday we were there. Our room and communal areas were all beautifully maintained.

The room was spacious, beds comfy, shower hot and air con cold and efficient, just what we needed when the temps were around 30 degrees. During our stay there was little noise in the room and we slept very well. Room service was also great, and just what we needed after a long day exploring or at the beach

Finally the staff were polite, professional and welcoming. They were knowledgeable and helpful.

I loved every moment of our trip and will be returning and would absolutely stay at the Catalonia Sagrada Familia again!

We stayed 4 nights Feb/March 22. Overall a quiet, clean but small room in need of updating. The bed was very comfortable but the pillows weren't. I really appreciated the black out curtains. I would prefer coffee/tea making facilities in the room, there is a fridge, useful for cooling water and drinks. There is a bar/coffee lounge downstairs so I guess they want you to use these instead of having facilities in the rooms. The shower is really powerful and hot but the bath is extremely small, my partner couldn't use it. The staff weren't particularly friendly or welcoming. I would say this hotel is adequate, and clean but I've stayed in nicer 3 star hotels with much friendlier staff. I called down to reception one morning to request use of an iron, which was available for me to collect and return after use although it was pretty poor at ironing so this could be upgraded. The location is great for exploring, we walked a good deal and we felt safe in this area of Barcelona.

Dear Debs1072015, Thank you for the time spent sharing your experience through the Tripadvisor traveler website. Your comment is very important to us as it helps us improve our service immensely, without it it would be very difficult for us to know first-hand the impression that the service can give. We always insist that if you have any need or doubt you can contact reception for example if you need a different type of pillow or if the bathroom or room does not suit your need since we have different sizes and types of rooms. We deeply feel your indications regarding the hotel staff, a team that works 24 hours a day to satisfy all our guests, and even more so in these difficult social times of the pandemic in which affection and kindness towards people is our greatest. maximum. We would love to receive you again on another occasion and that you can perfectly enjoy your stay in Barcelona, Receive a cordial greeting, Evelyn Mata Assistant manager

My son and I stayed for 3 nights over my birthday weekend. This hotel is in a GREAT location, not far from shops, 5 mins walk from the shopping centre, 5 mins walk from the bars and resturants. 15 mins walk from Sagrada Familia, 30 mins walk to the beach. we had one of the brown rooms, even though it was spotless and comfortable, I think they have tried to modernise it but the room is a bit depressing, its just drab. Its brown and dark. Bathroom marble is yellowing, I think these rooms need a refurb to make them light and refreshing. Could have done with more than one pillow. The hotel was spotless, breakfast was great, All the receptionist were really friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay. The one down side to our stay was the bar staff, Friday night we went to have a drink in the bar, like brits do we stood at the Barr, the man beside the bar didn't even look at us, he went off and came back and we were simply ignored, we sat down and waited to be served as this seems to be the way in Barcelona but still we were ignored, eventually we did get served but I was ready to walk out, after we finished our drinks we struggled to pay our bill as again we were just ignored. I'm in the same kind of work and a simple recognition that we were there would have gone a long way.

We were upgraded to a room with a balcony which was a nice touch. But overall, the staff at reception were not as friendly/welcoming as other hotels we have stayed at. Apart from one member of staff who made an effort to greet us when she saw us. The rooms were tiny and seemed to be quite worn - in contrast to the lobby and downstairs area which seemed modern and nicely looked after. The amenities given were not enough for a 4 night stay. The hotel only has 6 irons to share between all visitors which was extremely inconvenient. Overall, the room did its job as providing a place to stay, but the stay was not a particularly pleasant one and we will not be staying again.

Unfortunately a terrible stay due to our room being so hot, air conditioning didn’t work and the thermostat was showing that our room was 27 degrees. When I spoke to a member of staff from reception over the phone she was rude and stated there was nothing she could do as the air conditioning units were not activated and that we had already had a fan (a heater with a fan setting) there was nothing else we could do. When I went down to talk to another member of reception they said we should open the windows? As if we hadn’t already done that! Unacceptable that they advertise air conditioned room and then state they only turn it on during the summer. Didn’t sleep during our visit here and would definitely not recommend staying here unless you want to try an overnight sauna experience!

We stayed for 4 nights, hotel staff were really nice and helpful. Our room was on the second floor was cleaned every day with new towels. Pool was on the second floor you get the sun between 12:00 - 15:00. Not a massive amount of sunbeds but there is seating also. Even without the sun it was a nice area to relax.
Airport taxi was 37euros and took about 25mins.
We walked into the main town every day except 1. It is about a 45min walk but lots of cafes to stop off at for a drink. The tube daily 1 way was around 3euros and is a few mins walk from the hotel.
Right next to the tube is a restaurant called El Clot (same name as tube) I would highly recommend eating here. We had the best tapas and smoothes.
Another place I would recommend is Nou Somni it's a few minutes walk from the hotel but really good prices for drinks and a nice area to relax.

came here for our 10 year anniversary, staff were friendly. room a little dated/worn around the edges. not tea and coffee making facilities, for this reason i would not return. i like to have coffee before i get ready for my day.

roof top pool is actually on the second floor, so over looked by local residents, however it was clean.

breakfast was delicious, plenty of gluten free options, once you have asked for it. however it is a buffet style breakfast and therefore you can not rely on the other guests to be so considerate. ie double dipping in the jams etc.
