The room was clean. The chamber maid friendly and prompt. The alleyways were clean and quiet. The towels were warm and clean and fresh smelling always. The staff in the dining room and the bars were attentive, safe, and friendly. There was a variety of food on the buffet and it was always well stocked. This is my 5th stay at the Whala and I loved it.
The place was old but clean, nice staff, lots of russians (🤣). The food was very good regarding the fact that I had a great deal and paid less than 600CA for a week/all inclusive. A lot of the employees speak french. I wouldn't pay more than 700-800 for a week, if you want a fancy place, go where else. But if you're like me and all you care about is taning and swimming, very nice place.
We love animals but if you dont like dogs, you might get scared. They are pretty sweet tho'
Overall Whala Hotel was much better than l expected. Its location is great.Boca Chica is little town, safe and not too far from Santo Domingo.Food was safe and its variety was satisfactory. The staff, especially at the front desk, was very friendly and hard-working.This hotel is a gem!
Whala! Boca Chica is a great place to stay at. The place is clean, there is food all day at no cost along with three buffet sittings. The staff is incredibly genuinely nice and welcoming. No pressures to tip but are welcomed if given. This resort is conveniently located on the beach front and the strip. This was my second stay at Whala! and I had such a great experience as I did my first stay. You cannot find a better bang for your buck than this location. It is also a mixed crowd. You’ll be with Dominican locals, Eurpoeans, Russians, Americans even ran into some people from the Puerto Rican Island. I will be returning next year!!
Had a bit of a rough start. However, after that everything was perfect. The resort is fully inclusive and tipping is not necessary. On occasion, I tipped when I felt like it for excellent service. Retired now, I worked in the hospitality and travel industry for forty years. I traveled a good deal too. So, my opinion is more analytical and accurate than most. Most of my career involved sales and marketing although I managed a 200 room property . I'm an Orlando native and highly experienced in knowing what I'm looking at with a critical eye. The property is excellent. The food and beverage is very good and varied for actually 3 to four meals a day. Loved the multiple beautiful pools and the beach. So go, you won't be disappointed. Will return, or should I say want to.
