Welcoming, family run hotel

Reviewed Jan 23, 2022via mobile
This is the second time i have stayed here. The rooms are clean and functional and the view of the caribbean sea couldn't be better. The staff are extremely friendly and polite, nothing is too much trouble. The facilities and food are excellent. The beach is outstanding. The location is quiet but with very easy access to bars and restaurants. Supermarkets etc are within walking distance and the excellent bus/taxi service is extremely cheap and accesses all areas of the island.
I have read some picky negative reviews of Coconut Court and quite frankly the authors of fhem must be nuts.
I will certainly be returning to this hotel in the future.

We stayed here for 10 days in January and found it to be a great family owned independent hotel in Hastings, about 2 miles south of Bridgetown.

The food, for all meals was very good and good value for money. Lunch served at the beach bar was simple but good with an occassional barbeque type arrangement.

The hotel is situated on a splendid part of the beach with shallow(ish) water and the feel of the place is very relaxed.

Some other comments have mentioned some road noise, this is from the minibus taxis that are forever beeping to pick people up but that's just Barbados and not at all a reflection on the hotel.

The best part of this hotel has to be the staff, each one of them were friendly, extremely helpful and seemed to really enjoy working there.

We enjoyed it so much we are going again next year.

We never normally return to the same hotel so it must have been good..

I have just returned from a 10 night stay with my two daughters. We booked in on the cuisine deal which is well worth having if you like breakfast. Plenty of choice. The lunch at the beach bar was particularly nice with happy hour twice a day and free cocktails & canopes from 5pm until 6pm. The staff were lovely especially the bar tender, Charnelle and Tiffany. There were a few restuarants to walk out to and lots of taxis to be had. A sea view room is a MUST as the land view rooms are across a main road. There are only two downsides to this hotel in my opinion, one is the noise from the road which is quite load and also the cleaners who were great but were forever dragging chairs around from 6 in the morning which when its above you is extremely loud. The snorkelling was great with turtles coming into shore daily.

Room tip: Sea View top floor, however there is no lift.

A very friendly and warming hotel. Great restaurant, helpful reception, great little shop selling everything from snorkels to beers , and snacks .
Would stay here again .

Jakes bar is great across the road .

Covid safety measures are brilliant , spray everything and have temperature and sanitisers everywhere

Positives..
Waking to the sound of waves
Lovely staff at all levels from management to housekeeping and everything in between. All helpful, friendly and professional.
Great beach and coastal stretch
Loads of sun loungers
Large bedrooms with great views.
Powerful air-conditioning
We were room only so took breakfast and dinner elsewhere. Lunch at the beach bar was fine.
Relatively cheap compared to hotels in Barbados

Negatives ..
Area not as nice as St Lawrence Gap or West Coast, very little within walking distance.
WiFi very patchy and for those of us on longer stays we need it for work.
Somewhat noisy and busy main road - the taxis horns are annoying and unnecessary. Will be worse when midnight curfew ends.
Rooms are basic (but large balconies and great views from higher floors)

Nice friendly hotel. Clean and comfortable room - superior ocean front.
Breakfast included in our booking and only used the restaurant for this meal. Food was good but the service left a lot to be desired - glad we were not on half board basis.
The beach is beautiful and we were lucky to see a hatching of turtle eggs one afternoon.
.Decent snorkelling on the reef near the beach.
Will definitely stay there again.
