This year is our 15th year staying at PVR, so you can tell how much we adore the place. Situated at the far end of Pefkos you can’t find a more peaceful location for accommodation in Pefkos. About 5 mins walk from Kavos beach you also have a very small bay literally a couple of minutes walk, hardly any sand but you can get down to the sea for swim in the sea - just beautiful.

The Hotel itself is set within beautiful well kept grounds. Facilities are very good. Reception will assist you in whatever way they can; from exchanging money to providing pool and beach towels which are free to use (although if you wish to change during your stay there is a charge. There is someone on reception 24/7 to assist you. You’ll be sent an email ahead of your stay where you can check in online and also ask for a safe facility.

You have breakfast included in your stay, which is buffet style. Plenty of choice, both cooked and continental. Very tasty setting you up for the day. The Pool Bar is open from 8am until late and run by friendly, helpful staff. There is a pool bar menu, with lots of choice and at night the Hotel’s restaurant (Filoxenia) opens. Again lots of choice and cooked to a very high standard. If you decide to eat in their sister hotel Matina’s restaurant, Meltemi you can have a 10% discount. Matina is situation on the main beach road in the Village.

There are two pools which includes a small baby pool. Plenty of sun beds surround the pool and shade if you want retreat from the sun during the day.

We usually stay in a four bed apartment, however there are also three bed apartments and studios for two. Rooms are well appointed and spacious, with all the self catering equipment you could need. Beds are comfy. Air conditioning is included and a god send in the hotter months. Rooms are cleaned to a high standard with linen changes at various points throughout your stay. Rooms also have wireless internet like the rest of the hotel. There is also plenty of sockets and also some USB charging points; vital when you have two teenage daughters whose lives are permanently on charge!

The hotel this year offers access to a washing machine; free to use, you just have to purchase your washing powder. We used this a couple of times during our stay.

The nearest bus stop is just over 10 mins away taking you to locations near and far across the island. Taxis can be ordered by reception. 7€ for a taxi into the village (back it’s 5€ from the taxi rank - you are paying €2 extra for the call out) if the taxi is called for you to come straight away. There is an extra €3 if you pre book a taxi, however we were advised that if the taxi arrives 10 mins late for the pre arranged pick up they should not charge the €3.

Groceries can be ordered from their sister Supermarket ABC to be in your room ahead of your arrival via their website. A great service that we always take advantage of. You can even buy your lilo ahead of arrival!

The Hotel also has a sister Travel firm where you can arrange to go on trips to the likes of Symi or Rhodes for example. They also offer a car hire facility; great for when you want to explore the island at your own speed.

There are some great Tavernas near the Hotel, especially Nikolas Taverna, but plenty more actually in the village. The walk into the Village takes about 15/20 mins based on how quick you walk. We love nothing more than walking in as the sun sets across the Bay. If you want to travel a little further there are some great Tavernas in Lardos and especially Lindos, which are a bus ride or taxi fare away. Lindos is definitely worth a visit, both in the day and at night.

The best thing about the Hotel is the staff. Vasilis and his team are fantastic, putting you at ease as soon as you arrive, catering for all your needs.
