My husband booked an 8 day stay at the Sherwood Greenwood in Kemer, after reading the reviews i was a little worried however having had a wonderful stay at the Sherwood Lara last year I thought how different could the Greenwood be.

Having got up early for our flight and over an hour transfer we relieved to get to the hotel. We where met by friendly staff who prior to checking in directed us to the snack bar for food and refreshments. Our bags where taken to our rooms and after we had eaten we where also escorted to the room.

We booked a family room. Which was clean, tidy and spacious. Upon realising the we had three children and only 2 beds in the room an additional bed was promptly brought up and made. The room consisted of two rooms each with a balcony. Bathroom very nice and shampoo conditioner and body wash provided. Only downside was hairdryer a little temperamental not an issue for myself but my 18 year old daughter was not impressed after i convinced her not to take her dryer because the room would have one.

I noted a few reviews advised that the food was not suited to the brits. This is not a problem for me as I enjoy going on holiday and making the most of the local culture and their cuisine. That said if you do have fussy kids there is chicken nuggets, chips, burgers, spaghetti bolognaise etc. Myself and my family enjoyed the food, it was fresh with a good selection of salads, cheeses, freshly baked bread (especially loved the corn bread). There soups, casseroles and freshly cooked fish and meat. i really enjoyed the BBQ which was on every night which cooked meatballs, chicken breast, burgers and fish. The breakfast had fresh fried eggs, omelettes and pancakes cooked in front of you, a toaster and toastie maker also a variety of cereals, pastry's and biscuits. This hotel would be fine for vegetarians. Snack bars include ice cream cakes, donuts made fresh in front of you with cinnamon sugar (amazing) and burgers chips, pastas and salads.
Plenty of selection drink wise. Bar staff friendly enough very hard working. You have to go to the bar to get drinks no waiting on service which was not a big deal however we where spoilt at the Lara in that staff where constantly taking drinks orders and serving customer's around the pool areas.

The facility's around the hotel are good. Children's pool fantastic, plenty of sun loungers around the pool so you can supervise whilst getting a tan. Water park a great hit with the hole family. The main pool also good with activities and games throughout the day. All pools have a lifeguards.

Evening entertainment was good. Its a shame they shut the lobby bar at 22:00 as even though the hotel was not full there where long queues for drinks. Younger children loved the mini disco and entertainment staff good with the kids.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Green wood hotel. The local area is nice, friendly shop owners, nice bars and only a 15 minute bus ride to Kemer which was very cheap. Kemer itself beautiful. recommend a trip to moonlight bay and yuruki Parki.

Only recommendations for the hotel are- having two bars open until 23:00 and having a higher door handle or some sort of security system at the Gym.
My 8 year old son (who is normally pretty sensible) decided with a friend to go into the gym and go on a tread mill with pretty bad consequences requiring 2 visits to the DR and dressings on his legs. The in house DR at the hotel is fantastic as is their guest relations staff.
