Second half of an eight night trip to Costa Rica, 30th anniversary, last four nights at The Harmony Hotel. Took the advice of another review and booked a bungalow rather than a room as they said noise next door could be an issue? All quiet where we were! Bed was super comfy and the wife again loved the outdoor shower! We stayed in Bungalow 14 and with that, I'd say it has a lot of what I might call "old charm". Any upgrade would take away from that, but it also might make the stay a little more soothing. AC worked great and kept the room cool. Only down side was an invasion off fruit flies, and that might be remedied with a threshold under the door, weather stripping and some new windows.
The rest of the place is nice! The wait staff, house keeping, juice bar girls and the guys at the surf shack were all kind and very helpful. Grounds were kept clean and they worked at it daily! Pool area was relaxing and had quick access to the bar. Love all the pathways to different spots on the property and the walk to the beach. Had breakfast each morning & helpings are large - couldn't eat it all. I started asking for half helpings or just the fruit plate after the first one. We only had lunch once, a late salad the first day upon arrival, & it hit the spot! We asked if dinner menu was the same as lunch and were told it was.
Never saw a yoga schedule or a spa menu until we found that area of the hotel while walking the paths. Another guest pointed me that way when I asked where the juice bar was. Might be helpful to work on the website a bit - add a link to the menu, spa offerings and yoga schedule. If any of that was in the room, we simply missed it.
We saw a lot of wildlife - monkeys, iguanas, lizards, wide variety of birds, cool looking squirrels and a family of Coatis (with 8-10 young ones) hung out with us a bit as well. Only wish I was a better surfer, GREAT location for that!!!
