Girls only vacation!!

Reviewed Mar 21, 2016
We came here on an off time...and didn't expect much. We had a good time...food was ok, staff were friendly (for the most part) We spent alot of time in the pool. If you dont like walking, you wont like it here. Its all uphill. Again, we didnt expect much but we did have a great vacation! Would I go back....NO! But was a cheap good time away.

I went here on my grad trip back in June of 2014! I had so much fun, the people were nice and if you tipped them, they would be extra nice.. The walk up hill was okay, got used to it after a while. I think I was in building 14 which wasn't bad, but the view was amazing! The black sand was cool looking but try to avoid it during the day it is very hot. loved the low tide during the day and the high tide during the night, it was very neat.

This country and resort are amazing. We couldn't have asked for anything more. The people are friendly, remember to tip. That makes all the difference. Go on a zip line tour and make sure you fly into Liberia.

I never write reviews but I hate reading the bad reviews of this place because we loved it so much.My husband and two kids (13 and 9) spent Christmas here and I chose this hotel because of the monkeys. This is not a 5 star hotel but they do not advertise to be either. The beds were old and not comfortable at all but that is my only complaint. Our room was cleaned every day and we left tons of stuff out and nothing was ever missing. The staff was absolutely wonderful and my daughter still talks about Carlos. We went to the beach every day and fed the monkeys and watched them play on the jungle gym. Both of my kids are very picky eaters so I was a little worried about that after I read the reviews but they always found something to eat and we were never hungry. If you do stay here find Rami on the beach to take you fishing, shopping, horse back riding or pretty much to do anything you would want to do and tell him his Texas family sent you. We will back in August and can not wait.

Room tip: Call a few days before the trip and request building 10 or 11

We visited this hotel as a romantic get away and it was simply amazing. A bit hard to get to - but once you're there ....its heaven! A small plane brought us into the coast - it looked like the movie "avatar " - a blanket of lime green ....unreal! The hotel staff was amazing -"pudda vida " LOL! We did tours very other day - zip line, horse back and ATV ( through the jungle and over an alligator pond! YIKES! The hotel was a 4 star - lovely room - comfortable bed, incredible food! My only FYI is that its a family place - and next time we'd prefer adults only. The black sand beach was very unique. The place was built upon ancient grounds - legend has it. My hubby was jogging early one morning around sunrise ( alone ) he said he was the only person on the beach and it had just rained a few hours prior....as he reached the end of the run - he felt a presence as if someone as watching him - he turned to jog back ...and he looked down only to find a 2nd set of foot prints ...although no one else was jogging with him. A bit unnerving ....besides that we had a great trip! We also had a massage that week - amazing ! Cant wait to go back! PURA VIDA!!! LOL

Rooms were dated. Showers were not cleaned well. My friends I was travelling with had items stolen from them, I'm assuming from the house keepers. When resorted to the front desk nothing was further done about it. The staff wasn't overly nice. Some were very rude. As well as the food was awful. I wouldn't recommend this resort to anyone.
