Incredible vibe and soul rejuvenation at Surjacks. At first it seems a little bougie but I found their policies generous (upgraded room, free parking). The building itself has seen better days most notably in the hallways etc but each room was recently redone in a fresh funk way. Common areas are nice (water station, poolside). They were short staffed for food service but we had two great entrees and one meh one. They brought in a singer guitarist who absolutely smashed it. We listed from our lanai. Would go back in a heartbeat.

All staff was wonderfully helpful and friendly, especially front desk staff. But also housekeeping and maintenance staff. Answered questions, advised nearby restaurants/convenience stores, key sites. Always greeted us like family. I can't think of any reason to stay elsewhere. Adequately quiet even though in center of city. Convenient public transportation. Pleasant evening music in lobby/restaurant. Wonderful memories though weather cold, rainy, windy.

I loved the Surfjack! The room was comfortable and I appreciated the laid back style. I enjoyed lying out by the pool and grabbing a bite off the happy hour menu while trying the tropical cocktails. The live music from local artists really added to the fun ambiance in the evenings. The hotel is in a great spot if you don’t have a car because it is a short walk to several beaches. It was also simple to catch buses at the end of the street to explore the area. Additionally, the staff members were super helpful and friendly, and accommodated all of our wishes. We even got to see Jack the hotel dog. I can’t say enough good things about the experience at the Surfjack and can’t wait to come back! Mahalo from California.
