Big and clean room

Reviewed Jan 13, 2023via mobile
The place was clean, the room is big for 2 adults and 2 children. And the service was really goos too including the food at the restaurant which very affordable and delicious. Nothing to add beyond that with the exception need to upgrade the toilet seat.

I stayed here for 4 days as a part of my one month Bali trip. On arrival, the staff were polite and advised where I could go for lunch as I was early for check-in.

When I eventually checked in.. The room on a surface level looked clean. However, when i pulled the blankets back to check the sheets (as I always do), there were multiple stains.. I requested they be changed, which they did immediately, but the new sheets were only slightly better.

Breakfast was good with a range of choices..

The pool always had available sunloungers and towels.

Facilities were ok, but you're definitely paying for the location with this hotel..

Room tip: Uncle Norms plays live music eveynight and does a great strawberry daiquiri Beach bowl is an 8min walk away and do the best smoothie bowls

Just a quick one week getaway when the opportunity arose. After many trips to Legian/Seminyak and the other usuals we decided to try The Magani. What a pleasant surprise. Room was great, plenty of space, good balcony. Excellent pool. The breakfast meals were great as were our meals at the famous Mozarello Restaurant. The Magani is definitely worth a try, thoroughly recommended.

The Magani hotel is a modern hotel The rooms are fairly spacious and modern but there are a number of faults.

They have a 3 PM check in which is ridiculous and there's only 3 or 4 hotels in Bali that have that stupid policy.  They offer free Wi-Fi but only for 2 devices which is ridiculous in this day and age. Much cheaper hotels offer free Wi-Fi to all devices.  The wifi is mediocre and drops it up from time to time its erysipelas poor for a 4 star hotel.

The hotel is made in the U shape surrounding the Courtyard where the pool is located with all the rooms looking at or over the pool.

The rooms have 2 sofas and a large desk and chair.  However even though the sofas look quite presentable they re not very comfortable and sre covered in a cheap canvas feel horid material

The hotel provides these stupid useless glass front coolers which barely keep anything below room temperature and are absolutely useless in a hot climateso you couldnt keep any drinks cold.  Why a modern hotel would be providing such poor quality room fridges in a hot climate is beyond one's wildest imagination.

They offer a very old lcd TV Which by the look of the features must have been purchased over 10 years ago and they need to be replaced because they don't cater to further modern society and again being a modern hotel this fails dismally.  This very distinctive lack of powerpoints to charge your devices or laptop with only 1 free powerpoint in the entire room which means you have to unplug one of the lights to charge a second device.  You can't even boil the electric jug in the room without taking it into the bathroom because there are just no power points available So many cheaper hotels do much better than this hotel in that area,  This is a serious design floor with this hotel.

There is a reasonable sized balcony with 2 chairs where you can sit on the balcony and look over the pool area.

The housekeeping is fairly poor when they come in each day they don't pick up half of the things and they don't put away things like the hair dryer which sat beside the wash basin for the entire stay. The housekeeping staff don't do any wiping down a benches, never once cleaned the soap dish and yet they claim they do extra cleaning for protection against covid. Definitely not thecase.

The shower It's OK with a reasonable water pressure.

The bed was reasonably comfortable with some large comfy pillows.

They do provide really good quality soft bathroom towels which is good to see because many hotels in Bali offer scratchy raggy towels.  The towels they provide are soft and good quality.

They don't provide umbrellas in the rooms for guests And again hotels at half the price in the area do that.

The room service menu prices were reasonable, but the good was not. I ordered mei Goering and In the description they claimbed to have shrimp Beef, chicken and vegetables And this was a very disappointing dish not only was there no shrimp anywhere in the dish, but the tiny places of beef and chicken were dry and horribly overcooked and I would have rated the food 1 out of 10.

Even though my stay here was reasonably pleasant, I found it to be overpriced with so many things they did not cover or cater for.

There are plenty of hotels with much better TV's, bathrooms, and much better Wi-Fi and far more power outlets. Those features detract from the overall vquality and experience of the hotel.

I do not think it is worthy of 4 stars and I do not think it is worth the price they charge.

Recommended place to stay. Good value for your money. We stayed for our honeymoon in a bubblebath suite. The room had good airconditioning, soft bed and the jacuzzi was amazing. The hotel also prepared a really nice honeymoon surprise.

This ia my second stay in Magani, the first one was back in 2019. We generally love the concept of this small chic hotel. Good locations, comfortable, bright atmosphere and friendly staff make us come back after 3 years.
We book 6 room for this trip unfortunately they csnnpt manage to placed all of us in floor. We understand maybe due to high occupancy.
Among this 6 room, 4 are all fine but 2 rooms way in the back side of property feels like un maintain properly. Damp room, ac doesnt work properly, and some moquitos in our room ( 2028 and 2027). They inform hotel operations are off during pandemi and re open only from August 2022. I believe some of room we used are never been opened and havent been treated properly.

Beside this isssue everything was okay, bfast was good even with limited choice its taste good, pool also treated well ( the water is clean and fresh).
Oh there are small incident tho, we travel with total 8 kids (under 10 Yo) and our kids are swimming and playing in pool area in the morning and afternoon. Then 1 of hotel staff come to my maid and asking our kids too turn their voice down. Me and my wife are not present at that moment so our maid only tell us this when we’re on our way home. Just an input, hotel manager may educate their guess about this disturbance. This is small hotel which the pool is at the centre of the building so most of their room are facing swim pool, while our kids swim at normal hours so noise is inevitable. This is not fancy resort such as ritz or four season, this is small hotel in the middle of Kuta. So guess should understand what to expect.

Room tip: Choose lower floor and facing pool for better ambience. Avoid room in the back kf property.
