Delightful Room with Patio

Reviewed Sep 22, 2021
We had an attractive room with a patio, chairs and a table--all overlooking the mountains. Room was well appointed and had two queen beds for only slightly above our budget ($231,30/night). One disappointment was no breakfast at all was included, although the room did have a coffee maker, refrigerator and microwave. But best of all it had good restaurant on site: Pioneer Kitchen. We had dinner and breakfast there (two hearty meals).

I was a little nervous after reading some of the reviews because our reservation was for a room in the lodge and not the new cabins. It turned out that the lodge room, while simple, was clean and decent. The air conditioning unit was noisy and didn't do a good job of cranking out air, but we were only there for one night. The bathroom had two burnt out bulbs over the sink, but we had sufficient light for our stay. The sink was one of those raised bowls, and in a small bathroom that simply took up too much space. Room lighting was dim. The view, however, was magnificent!

The cutest place to base your Capital Reef National Park excursions! We stayed in the cabins that were extremely comfortable. Views are breathtaking! There’s an outdoor fire pit for enjoying the evenings. Wagons and teepees are also available for lodging. The Pioneer Kitchen was great for dinner with very fresh, homemade food. Breakfast was good also, but didn’t offer substitutions. We would definitely recommend this resort.

Great quiet place close to National Park, we had a cabin, it was clean, good bathroom, atmosphere, would recommend. Had a balcony out back to sit on and enjoy the evening. First night our refrigerator in the room broke down and it was replaced within minutes by very friendly maintenance man. THey don’t have a freezer but froze my ice block at the front desk. Good ice supply and also had washer dryer on site.

We checked in to a room that reeks of stale cigarettes, low lighting, dark brown decor. I’m sure the darkness is to hide the filth. I can’t believe I came over 2,000 miles to stay in this place. Not as advertised!!

The hotel has a variety of lodging options: hotel, cabins, even Conestoga wagons and teepees. The hotel is an older building, really a motel, with parking directly in front of your room, which is convenient for hikers and gear. The room and bathroom were small by "modern" hotel standards, but the décor was up-to-date. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
