While we do not typically like staying away from home, the CANALTA in ST PAUL makes this the exception for us -- in our experience, the rooms we occupied during a number of stays were comfortable, being well-laid-out, nicely decorated, clean, and all with an extremely comfortable bed, very important to us for a good night's sleep.
Wonderful Pet-friendly policy makes the stay even better for us as we prefer to bring along our small pure-bred dog. Main floor rooms with parking at the door and access to outdoors for a walk are bonuses. Staff are especially accommodating from taking our reservation, through arrival and check-in and to assisting with any information or needs during our stays.

We stayed at the Canalta as we were in town for a funeral. Without knowing anything about the hotel and never being in St. Paul, I was worried we'd be staying at a run down, cheap, trucker, motel. I was completely wrong. The place is very well kept, clean, quiet and the beds/rooms were extremely comfortable. We couldn't have been happier. The pool, waterside and hot tub were great. The included scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes and coffee were very good in the morning. I would easily recommend this hotel to anyone.

My latest extended stay for work at the Canalta St. Paul was again outstanding. The rooms & amenities are excellent including an outside bbq and patio area for guest use, The front desk staff & general manager exceed my service expectations as always and make you feel like a valued VIP. The housekeeping staff and maintenance team keep the place very clean daily. Always an enjoyable stay while working in the area.
I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting or working in the Lakeland area!
