Throwback resort in the Catskills, great for kids and all ages alike.
Started coming here in 2021 and it has become a family tradition. Seeing families return and the kids becoming friends over the years is a special kind of thing that isn’t the norm any more.
We look forward to coming back in 2025.
My parents discovered this gem of a place in 1946, and I had my first visit in July of 1952, at age 18 months. I let my father drive that year, but I was reading the road map for him. Sunny Hill and the Nicholsens and their staff really are my second home and family. I just booked my first three 2024 visits for May, June and July, and I can't wait. From fishing to food and mountain views to military vehicles, there is something for everyone of every age. AND you get to feed goats who don't bite your fingers!! (Don't try that with the Snapping Turtles around Lake Loree!!)

Nicholsons and staff alwzys courteous. Food is plentiful. Accommodations clean and roomy.View is spectacular. Plenty of things to do or in my case just relax. Awesome family get away that my family has been doing for over 40 years. We never tire of our yearly visit.

From the minute you arrive at Sunny Hill, you are spoiled with pleasant staff, very accommodating and they offer many activities, suited for ALL ages.
Your choice of room sizes can accommodate your family/groups. The views are breathtaking, you truly are surrounded by greenery and mountains, it never gets old, I can never get tired of taking in the views from our Balcony room in the Parkchester. Then theres the LAKE, another great spot for fishing, boating or just hanging out by one of the many playground areas. The meals are delicious and served in a Dining Room overlooking the mountains, manicured fields of green. The Pavillion , by the Lake, offers so many great times for BBQ's and live music. The Entertainment is non-stop from morning till night, including sports, Rides, so many rides, Live Bands, DJ, Games like Bingo, horse racing, it goes on and on. Never a Lull in the moment on this Sunny Hill Vacation.

I decided to return to Sunny Hill Resort following my last visit in 1969. It is exactly the same! Also ran into workers who are descendants of workers I recall from 54 years ago. Clean, well maintained and friendly place. Nice clean rooms, 3 squares a day, and lots of activities. Very attentive and accessible owners and staff. Good natured guests and very safe and fun for kids. Almost like going back in time to a kinder gentler era. My faith in humanity is restored.
