Although I was concerned about the current Covid19 situation and the safety precautions that would be taken by Sunny Hill Resort (one of our favorite vacation destinations), I was quickly reassured by the many social media and emails updates from Sunny Hill about the precautions that they would be putting in place during the different phases to reopen. Sunny Hill went above and beyond. Every safety measure was taken to make sure each guest was safe and comfortable while still getting the Sunny Hill experience. We were required to wear masks when entering the dining hall (which can be removed when at your table), the office, entertainment hall (again can be removed within your group), gift shop. Some if the planned inside activities were redesignated to be outside for social distancing. The Nicholsen family, as well as the 4th and 5th generation Nicholsen family members, came through in these difficult times to ensure we felt safe when seeing friends and participating in activities in a safe manner. Just being outside in the fresh air in the mountains surrounding Sunny Hill did us all good and I would definitely encourage anyone who may be on the fence about going, to do it. You will not be sorry. Just bring your masks, wipes if it makes you feel better, and enjoy the great time at Sunny Hill and celebrate their 100th year. You'll have fun on the Just for Fun rides, military night and the spectacular Friday night fireworks at the lake to end your week. You won't be sorry.

Masks required traveling to and from public destinations like dining hall, the pool, the main hall, gift shop easily put any concerns to rest, and many activities were planned outside to ensure social distancing would never be an issue. Can’t say enough about the Nicholsen family and how they came through in these difficult times to ensure we felt safe all while enjoying seeing friends and participating in activities in a safe manner. The fresh air of the Catskills did us all good and I would definitely encourage anyone who may have been or be on the fence about going, to do it. You will not be sorry. Though Sunny Hill carried their own, our group could not help but make the best of the situation by making our own masks and shirts to celebrate their 100th anniversary and proudly displayed them as we traveled to and from our destinations within the resort. Once with family, friends or group at the dining hall, tournaments, etc, masks could remain on or off and there was no uneasiness whatsoever. Great experience overall. Both courses were in great condition and the staff was very friendly. The meal set up was very convenient and I would absolutely recommend to anyone who is looking for a golf trip with multiple people. My group had 26 and we will definitely be looking to go back annually.

Once again, Gail and Gary knocked it put of the park. Their kindness, staff, and attention to detail is second to none. We stayed from Friday until Sunday and had a wonderful time. The entire resort is so family friendly, that they make you feel like you are part of the Nickersen family.

From the minute you arrive at Sunny Hill, you are spoiled with pleasant staff, very accommodating and they offer many activities, suited for ALL ages. Your choice of room sizes can accommodate your family/groups. The views are breathtaking, you truly are surrounded by greenery and mountains, it never gets old, I can never get tired of taking in the views from our Balcony room in the Parkchester. Then theres the LAKE, another great spot for fishing, boating or just hanging out by one of the many playground areas. The meals are delicious and served in a Dining Room overlooking the mountains, manicured fields of green. The Pavillion , by the Lake, offers so many great times for BBQ's and live music. The Entertainment is non-stop from morning till night, including sports, Rides, so many rides, Live Bands, DJ, Games like Bingo, horse racing, it goes on and on. Never a Lull in the moment on this Sunny Hill Vacation.

The owners and staff strive and go above and beyond to make sure your stay is perfect. The wife fell and broke her shoulder in 3 places just before our trip and when she called to see if we could get a recliner and were amazed when they said yes and when we got there it was in the room with extra blankets. We have stayed in many places over our 40 years together and this is one of the top 5..

It was so great to be staying back at Sunny Hill for the last four nights, and can't wait for my next stay. The Nicholsen family are truly like an extended family for me, as I have been visiting this beautiful resort since I was one year old. I go there mainly for the bass fishing in Lake Loree and for the evening entertainment, but the wonderful food and service in the dining hall, with a truly spectacular view of the Catskill Mountains is also always memorable. I very highly recommend this place to relax and unwind!!

Under previous ownership there was a special rate of $13 to walk and play the golf course after 3 pm. With the change in ownership that's gone away and now it's $25 to walk after 3 pm with no change in the course or reason given for the almost doubling in cost. I'm disappointed as a local who enjoyed stopping by a few times a summer for a cheap and fun way to spend the afternoon.

What a wonderful family week at Sunny Hill once again (the 4th week of July). The perfect place to celebrate and relax with your family. The Nicholson Family and Sunny Hill staff has continuously gone above and beyond to ensure all their guests have a wonderful time. It is definitely no easy task with a large resort as there’s and the many, many, many families that return year after year. This year was our 11-12th year going there and they never disappoint. The families up that week are wonderful and webhave created year long friendships with many of them. The last few years Sunny Hill 😎 was a place for members of my family to recuperate from injures and they were so accommodating that it made everyone’s stay a great experience. Hi John- All good questions! No need to bring your canopy. There are several gazebos, card rooms and lawn chairs throughout the resort. Most rooms have a porch/veranda. We have several corn hole games on the property but feel free to bring your own if you'd like one right by your own room. There is no smoking in any of the buildings/rooms on the property. You may bring your own alcohol anywhere on the property.. dinner, evening entertainment, pool. We do sell beer and wine in the snack bar but you're welcome to bring your own as well. We look forward to welcoming you to Sunny Hill!
Unfortunately we can not accommodate your family for NYE as we are a seasonal resort open May - October. We'd love to host your family though during those months. Call or email us for availability! Thank you
