I called the property directly to book two rooms for a two-night stay in June. We were visiting my son who had recently graduated from Naval boot camp. I spoke with the employee and explained that the two most important factors to our party was proximity to Great Lakes Naval Base and complimentary breakfast. I was assured by the hotel employee that Days Inn by Wyndham Great Lakes fulfilled our needs. When we arrived we were informed that there was no breakfast of any kind provided by the property. In addition, the room was dirty, with some sort of vegetable matter growing on the tub stopper. The room HVAC unit was louder than any motorcycle I have owned. The room phone was dead. The hallway outside of our rooms had 2 AM rowdy, noisy guests both nights of our stay. Many more deficiencies were present; it is difficult to list them completely.

I assumed that Wyndham would offer an equitable remedy - I was far from correct. The Wyndham Corporate representatives to whom I spoke (at least six over the period of three days) were totally defensive and dismissive. I was advised that I should have clicked on a disclaimer which warned that the amenities which were (and still are) pictured on the property web page may be taken away at any time, of course due to Covid 19. I informed the representatives that I spoke to the property employee to book the reservations and no such information was provided. That information was deceitfully withheld. I was offered, even after itemizing what the deception cost our family, a fraction of that damage.

I gave Wyndham EVERY opportunity to remedy this terrible situation. They opted instead to offer an insultingly insignificant solution. That solution was for our family to trust them and stay at a Wyndham property in the future. After our experience, who could accept that type of remedy? I hope this review will prevent other travelers for choosing this property and Wyndham for their lodging. We wanted so much to have a great trip as it was the first time we had seen our son in months. Wyndham ruined that trip for us.
