I swear our unit (508) was the same size and layout as my one bedroom apartment back in the 80’s! Just didn’t have the red shag carpet! It was roomy and had everything we needed. You want to stay on that side for the better view. But 508 was near the elevator so we heard/felt the subsonic hum as it went up and down (earplugs cured that). I’d suggest going for 506 or, better, 504. The complementary cookies and brownies in the lobby were yummy! We had a running fight with our TV that we ended up just laughing about. It was replaced our second day. Then the sound wouldn’t work. They’d fix that, then that night it would be out again. The maintenance dudes kept working on it. We were on vacation so just laughed it off and didn’t care. They were nice guys. The bed was just OK. Wasn’t as comfy as the one at the Residence Inn Sebring we had just stayed at. Good shower water pressure and shower head height. The odd thing was the sink bowed out into the walk through area. Banged our hips on that a lot at night. Very nice pool. They have a hot tub that we didn’t try.
The star of the unit are the two porches overlooking the beach. We spent a lot of time out there for meals, sunsets. The complementary breakfast was pretty much the same every morning (one day they had BACON!). But it was pretty good. They actually had carry out boxes so you could take food to the room and sit on the balcony. The staff were all wonderful to talk to!
This place is right on a perfect stretch of Treasure Island beach. It’s really wide, beautiful sand and no crowds. It’s an easy walk down the beach to John’s Pass shopping haven. Tons of restaurants and beachwear shops. There is also a free beach “Taxi”! We used them several times. Never had to wait more than 10 minutes for a pickup. They work solely for tips so be generous! Right across from a Circle-K, great restaurants, liquor store and grocery just up the street. We loved the area!
DO NOT try to get here by driving I-275 or other Tampa interstates! They’re a traffic nightmare!
As you might have guessed, we’ll be back!
