Overall, we enjoyed our 4-night stay, and the rate was very good.
Initially, I made a few different good-value hotel reservations, as a Marriott Platinum, Hilton Diamond, and Booking.com Genius 3.
However, I called this hotel a few weeks prior, and Kiara, who was very nice, assured that we would get a 7th floor pool view in the Tower Building, so I chose this hotel.
3 days prior, Santiago also confirmed this room, and on check-in day at noon, I was instead told the 6th floor.
Later at check-in, the hotel was full, and I was offered the 2nd or 3rd floor in the Tower or an 8th floor non-pool view. The manager then gave us the 6th floor Tower again, and we weren’t charged for parking.
10 minutes from Disney (and no need to use I-4 with its traffic), the hotel was full of teenage male, but well-behaved, soccer players competing at the Wide World of Sports.
It’s nice that the entire hotel was renovated a few months ago, but as a family hotel, it’s already showing some wear, especially carpet and upholstery stains.
Our room carpet had a bunch of small sticky areas around the fridge, which were better after I wiped with a soaked towel.
Every morning our large room windows were covered with heavy condensation that I had to wipe off.
The rooms are a bit tight, especially the bathrooms. Our room was otherwise quite clean, and the beds were comfortable.
The staff were all very nice.
As Marriott Platinum, we had free breakfast (usually $20). Every morning, I ordered an omelet with everything including jalapeños, which was really large, stuffed, and very tasty. The rest of the buffet was simple, but the fruits were also really good.
Our $25/day destination fee didn’t go too far at the fast food area because the prices are a bit high and an 18% service charge is added.
Unfortunately, our 2-year-old granddaughter got us sick, and the manager graciously let us check out a day early.
