The reason I give it a low rating is for 2 reasons.
1. The hotel is badly outdated and needs a renovation. I heard they put a million dollars into the place and that has to be BS. The carpets in hallways appear new but that's about it. missing tiles at the pool, lots of cracked concrete, a TV that never worked, a fan that makes lots of noise, tons of wires in exterior conduits, etc. Bathroom in the room was from the 1970s.
2. The staff is overall rude and even though my flight was cancelled and I missed the first night (got in the next day) they refused to even partially refund it, instead said too bad but we have a 30 day cancellation. This is a cancelled flight! not a changed mind, found a better deal, etc. The front desk has an attitude and is not guest centric as others have reported. Nobody ever asked us how was your stay or is there anything we can do, etc. they seem very bothered to be there. Basic hospitality is missing. They are 100% trading on the location. The airport pickup is a totally dirty van with no hotel name. They don't seem to make any effort.
3. They charge $25 if you lose an old metal key. They don't even have the plastic ones with more security technology. The welcome was "don't lose the key, it's a $25 charge if you do". When we were leaving I gave her the key and then instead of asking how everything was, she said "where's the other one?" my brother brought it shortly after.
The positives are the location on-slope is outstanding (which is how they get away with being crappy to guests and a lousy physical plant). And the complimentary breakfast is very generous. value is OK at $400 per night because of where it is. But if it were not on a slope it should be a $50 motel 6.
It could work for you since the options in the area are limited or super expensive. But be aware of what you're getting - and not getting.
