Great hotel right on the edge of downtown Durango with easy walking to many restaurants and activities. The rooms are very clean and have a small refrigerator that's just right for a few snacks and beverages. The staff is friendly and very helpful. We will stay again when we return to the area.

Staff at reception extremely unpleasant and surly.
Room service for a 2-day stay apparently must be demanded upfront or nothing gets done: no new sheets, no new towels (old towels stay on the floor of the bathroom), no new toiletries, no picking up of garbage. Not to mention the breakfast which is an abysmal spread of day-old pastries and rotten bananas. However the coffee is hot.
Interestingly enough, this hotel cannot print you a bill from a printer. The bill is on an hand-written sheet of paper. Pathetic...And you pay a ridiculous high price.
On the positive side, the hotel is in a superb location and the rooms are clean.
As a summary, the downtown location does not justify the unacceptable flaws of this property.
There are a lot of places to stay in touristy Durango without patronizing such a dismal hotel.
My recommendation: look elsewhere

First arriving the outside looks like a cheap motel. Very basic outside.
A nice welcome at the front desk.
No elevator, so had to carry all our luggage upstairs.
The room was large, clean, and had all we needed.
A funny smell turned out to be from the train that runs very close by. I sprayed around with body spray. Sorted.
Had a swim in the pool, and relaxed in the hot tub. Very nice.
Walked into town, which was a bit dead at 6 on a Monday. Lots of places close at 5, and on a Monday. Found a great place to eat behind the hotel. Gazpacho.
Breakfast was basic, but adequate.
Good spot.
