Amazing stay

Reviewed Feb 2, 2022
This has been one of the best places I have stayed so far in my travel adventures. The grounds are gorgeous and well maintained, with fresh grapefruit growing on trees. It is directly off a somewhat busy road but you could not even tell, it was quiet and peaceful. The pool is smaller but long enough to swim laps in, my sister and I played tennis everyday we were there, bikes were available for use ( with helmets) at no cost. I am 6ft tall they are just your average tourist cruiser so they are not the best if you are tall but I survived. The rooms are well maintained, clean and spacious, I loved having access to a full kitchen and grill, we grilled out several nights. Chopping knives for food prep were beyond dull and a struggle bus but that is my only complaint. I found the rate to be extremely economical as well. Yes it is not on the main drag but it is only a short drive or bike ride. Would love to stay again.

I have stayed in many different properties in the desert area throughout the years, and this property certainly has a lot to offer. But, the Desert Isle isn't to my taste.

We stayed in unit 31, which is off Palm Canyon Drive. On check in the employee mentioned since our bedroom is behind the kitchen we wouldn't hear any traffic noise. Since we hadn't stayed here before, I didn't have a clue what he was talking about. It was a Thursday night and so we didn't hear any traffic until Friday at 6:30 AM, when the trash truck started on the property. And, it went by twice. Then trucks backed up to make deliveries to the neighboring restaurant. We again heard traffic Friday night, when cars/motorcycles were speeding along the boulevard.

The property was a hotel years ago, and the rooms have walls similar to a hotel room....thin. The bedroom, where we weren't suppose to hear traffic noises, backed up to another room's bedroom. This proved to be a problem at 11:30 PM when the individuals in room 32 decided to be intimate---and they were loud.

We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite, and the space was very large. The entire space was immaculate! The king sized bed was very comfortable. But, one blanket on the bed wasn't warm enough for 48 degrees outside and a heater set for 65 degrees, as we don't like stuffy rooms. We had to ask for an additional blanket the next day. The kitchen is stocked with new kitchenware and we appreciated a full size refrigerator. We barbequed pork loin for dinner one night and made pancakes for breakfast one morning. We purchased dessert at the neighboring deli. The chocolate cake and carrot cake are delicious.

We enjoyed the tennis courts. They are in excellent condition. The pool, well it is a shame there is a large beautiful oasis pond, which is only for looks, and a swimming pool that has a dark bottom and is surrounded by a fence. According to the internet the pond was a pool at one time. It would certainly be more relaxing to lay around the oasis pond, than looking out at a chain link fence.

So, my complaint....the room is like a cave. It is very very dark during the day. The windows are under an overhang and unit 31 is across from another unit, so the room doesn't get any sun. I guess this is fine when it is scorching hot outside, but on a winter day, I want to see the sun. The patio overlooks the neighboring rooms. The walls are painted burnt orange and a dark taupe. The carpet is taupe. The wood ceiling is taupe. I felt like I was in the Bat Cave.

This resort definitely has a lot to offer, but I am not sure I will be back.

I stayed here 2 nights - while I visited Joshua Tree and the outlet shops. The room was VERY spacious, with comfortable bed. Had a separate bedroom with door, living room , dining room table, kitchen, fireplace, balcony with grill and chairs, and 2 bathrooms. Shower had sauna steam - great bonus. Has a parking spot with rooms on 1st and 2nd floors. The place isn’t new , but kept very clean. It’s a short drive to downtown. There are a few stores across the street for any necessities .

This is a great resort as long as you don't need to be in walking distance of downtown Palm Springs. It was very quiet, clean and has two pools and several hot tubs. Even though the pools were small, they were not crowded - usually only one or two other families in each. All the two bedroom units were booked, so I had a king bedroom and sleeper sofa in the living room for my son. He rated the sleeper sofa as pretty good - did not squeak or have a bar in the middle, but mattress was more firm than his preference. It had two bathrooms which was great. Loved having the full kitchen and dining room although the only meal we cooked was breakfast. There is one deli within the resort area that we did not try, and a grocery store and Walgreens also in walking distance. Even though we could tell the building was older, our unit seemed completely refurbished (unit 19). I believe some amenities were still closed due to covid, but the pools and hot tubs were open.

Spacious rooms, excellent landscaping around the pool. I especially loved having private spacious balcony with own bbq. Very pretty setting, great dark out curtains, and the steam room in the bathroom was fantastic.

I don’t comment on the service because I avoid people during the pandemic!

This is an older property, as many are in Palm Springs. Nicely maintained grounds, room was fine and had a nice view of a green-belt and the pool area. Close to stores and shopping, overall a good location.
