Booked two nights, a Wednesday and a Thursday. We did not want to pay the price of an ocean view but once we arrived we asked Michael if there were upgrades available. He said there was a room with an ocean view, $60 additional per night.
We were so glad that we upgraded. Though we were on the ground floor, we had an awesome view right across from the Cove itself. We could hear the waves and the seals with our sliding door open. Our room was to ADA code, so we had a huge bathroom and roll-in shower with a rain shower head feature. The lighting in the bathroom wasn't that great, for instance, to apply makeup. The AC worked great. We stayed in the renovated part of the hotel, so the room was new and clean. We would have liked it is they had curtains or blinds that afforded a bit more privacy, since people walking by could see directly into our room.
The location is AWESOME! I mean, right across the street from the Cove, easy walking distance to Prospect St. and all the shops and restaurants.
There is a large rooftop deck we new furniture that is open to all guests. We watched the sunset from it one night. Lovely. For the future, I believe they are planning a restaurant and bar there.
Michael and Vita were so friendly and cheery. Very nice staff, very helpful.
The older part of the hotel is getting renovated, and as such is not pleasant to look at from the outside.
Be aware, they do charge $25 per day for parking that is extra. We expected it and were not bothered.
