Matt was so helpful at the check in. He had great customer service and really helped me with my bags and giving recommendations of the surrounding La Jolla area. He was also so helpful and caring the couple checking in front of me that had somehow had an issue with their room booking reservation.

No words for how awful this experience was. Got in late night before Alanis Morisette concert. Bathroom was small, old, chipping and stains on tub and toilet, smelled, towels bedding old and torn, on and on. We expressed our displeasure, but were told no place to move to. Well, fitfully we got to sleep, knowing we could sleep in......until jarring insessant jackhammer noises coming right thru the walls and ceiling pummeled us out of bed. That was it. We went downstairs to demand our money. We were refused by the manager one of the 2 days. We got all of 8 hours of pure misery. We left , never to return, promising that the we would dedicate our lives so that this sort of greedy assault(robbery) would never happen again to some hapless person(s) who look at those misleading marketing Picts. Reality..for the price of having your money stolen you get tortured too. No excuse for this. We are still fuming. Paul Barkooulos and Nicole Barkopoulos

I stayed at the La Jolla Cove Hotel and had a great time. The room was really nice with a beautiful ocean view. The location was perfect and the staff were the best! Everyone was so friendly from check in to check out. The manager was really great and even the housekeepers were nice. Would definitely recommend.

Staying at the hotel now. Do not stay book stay at this hotel. Basically you're staying in a construction zone. Construction noise all day. Staying in the newly renovated Pines building which we told was "complete". It is not. Also, our room has numerous outlets and light switches that are not functioning. Maintenance came to help. Couldn't fix it. His comment was "huh....I didn't design the room". Front desk staff is defensive and unapologetic. Can't blame them but .....booked by phone --they certainly could have been more forthcoming about the condition of the building. Feel like I've been scammed. Again --- DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

We stayed in the new "Pines" section of the hotel; had an excellent King room with large bathroom including 2 sinks (WONDERFUL) & large shower. Mattress, bedding and pillows were more comfortable than we have at home! Only negative was we had a room without a view (by choice, to keep expenses down); our only window looked into the corridor so we had to keep our curtains closed 24/7. We saw the rooms with a view of the water and they looked so amazing we almost requested to switch, but decided to keep our room because the price was right! We were able to enjoy our morning coffee and evening wine with an amazing view from the rooftop terrace instead. Excellent place, very pleasant staff, can't imagine a more perfect location.
