This place is the hidden gem of Coronado. Fantastic, friendly staff, and spacious affordable rooms.perfect location, and you can see the water from the property. We go every year and it’s our favorite.

Directly across from the Del Coronado. We do not have a car when here and find that there is plenty of shops and reataurants within walking. Also easy to catch the Bus to the Ferry Landing. Although this facility is older it has been well maintained. Due to the property size/location the rooms are goofy in size and layout. Fire regulation dictates that some of the bedrooms have curtains rather that doors as there is no secondairy exit directly from the bedroom. That works. Two Bd Rooms have a "master" bedroom with bath. But actually it has a sink in the room with a narrow "closet" containing the toliet and shower. None of the rooms are large. As a condo the "kitchen" is just a 5 ft counter with Microwave and Dishwasher and sink. Almost no counter space. They list the two bed units as "sleeps 6" But even three of us were tripping over each other. There is limited seating in the dining-Living room. One Couch, and no other chair unless you use one of the 2 chairs at the dinning table. Only the light is within the overhead Fan for lighting to read by. There is two flood lights over the small table. One Bedroom unit was nearly the same but a bit? more room in the living room. Note most all rooms have a different layout due the the building shape. We have been in 4 different rooms.

For what people pay to stay in this hotel, the overall condition is unacceptable and the only way to fix this problem is to hire new management.

1. The lack or respect for the disabled is astounding which is evident by the lack of a loading zone for the disabled parking. Hello management? The purpose of handicap parking is to allow people in wheelchairs to unload from a vehicle via a loading zone. The ambulance chasing attorneys will fix this one.

2. Plumbing issues kept me awake the four nights that I was there. Twice a maintenance technician supposedly repaired the toilet that was constantly running. After the second attempted repair, I was disgusted and I didn’t want the technician to return. Hundreds of gallons of water were wasted due to incompetence. When I opened the tank lid, I discovered the “repair,” a paperclip connecting the flush valve chain to the flush lever.

Regarding the shower, the hot-cold water handle was ready to fall off.

3. The refrigerator door opens toward the wall and bathroom door. When someone exited the bathroom and the same time I opened the refrigerator door, my hand became a casualty. Would it kill management to spend five minutes reversing the door hinges?

4. The over condition of the hotel is rundown. Fire extinguisher integrity is compromised. Electrical outlets are worn out in the rooms and hallways. Lobby double wooden doors are damaged and do not operate correctly. Magnetic door holds don’t work and elevator fire doors have been damaged by people contacting them with luggage carts. Gate entry pad does not work with the code. I entered the correct code nearly one-hundred time and gate would not open. Walls are poorly insulated. Whenever the janitors speak in a foreign language in the hallway or someone in an adjacent room operates a sink or toilet, I could hear the noises in my suite.

Again, for what people are paying to stay at this hotel, the conditions are unacceptable. Until ownership hires new management, I do not want to stay at the Coronado Beach Resort anymore.

Coronado is one of the most beautiful places I have seen in California. It was a fairytale. Great food, service and met every expectation. Great place for kids and small dogs. So much to do, so make sure you plan at least 3 nights.

Great location walk to shops, beach and restaurants. Rooms facing street are somewhat noisy. Clean and well maintained. Friendly, efficient staff. Free parking available. Across the street from the Del Coronado.

Our family of 4 stayed in a one bedroom on the 3rd floor and enjoyed our stay. We walked to most places, but drove to the Ferry Landing and the Zoo. I attended a conference across the street at the Del and so glad I stayed at the CBR instead esp since we had a kitchenette and it was cozy and quiet!

From the pics I was scared this place would be old and dingy, but no, it was nice, clean, and smelled good! The three people we met at the front desk (on different days) were nice, informative, and made us feel welcome. We parked free of charge in the garage which is nice because we noticed parking is hard to come by on the island!

We were so glad we stayed here, would definitely stay here again.
