The resort is spectacular. It is extremely clean and well kept. The rooms are huge and updated and clean. Our first room had a problem with air conditioner, it had a horrible mildew smell and was humid. Our Butler Martin was extraordinary! He immediately took care of getting us a new room just 2 doors away from our kids. He helped us move all of our belongings. He was very attentive to our needs. He was easy to locate, checked in with us daily and was a total gentleman. He always made sure our family was taken care of. He is a true gem and the resort is lucky to have him! He is a wonderful person and butler! We dis not care for the food at the restaurants. If the resort hired world renowned chefs this resort would be perfection. I feel it was the only thing that was negative. Dinner was unbearable for our NY family. Breakfast was fair and lunch we managed at the outdoor beach grill. Dinner at the a la carte restaurants needs improvement. The wait staff is not overly friendly. Raul - is the only waiter who was excellent. The rest had attitudes and we often had to ask for beverages, even water at the buffet.
The beach waiters were fantastic. Bar tenders were all good, the time share guys were all annoying. The evening shows were all amazing!!!! We loved the nighttime entertainment. Great selection of shows each night!! The desserts at coco cafe were horrible. Again, resort, pools, beach, shows and out butler Martin were 5 stars! The food I would give 1 star. The food is the reason why we cont return to punta cana. Its my 2nd time and just cant understand why they dont fix the dining options and food quality in DR.
