I have just returned home from visiting Dreams Royal Beach in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. I was there with my husband, mother-in-law, and brother-in-law for 9 days/8 nights. This was the 7th trip to Punta Cana for my husband and I (we had been to this resort only once before and that was when it was a Secrets - there has since been remodeling done and the Secrets is now on the newer side of the property and the Dreams resort resides where the Secrets used to be), and it was as beautiful as it always is in the Dominican.
The best part of the trip was the Restaraunt staff - everyone was so friendly and engaging. I am practicing my very rudimentary Spanish and most of the staff was more than willing to help me learn something new if I asked. Every member of the Restaraunt staff was courteous and attentive and a few went above and beyond to make myself and my family fee very special.
John was by far our favorite employee (we usually saw him in the World Cafe for dinner as a server, but sometimes he was needed at Seaside Grill or Portofino) as he was sure to say hello even if he wasn't able to attend to our table. John was very personable and eager to engage in conversation. He was also very polite and made sure to excuse himself during a conversation that went a little too long so he was able to attend to other families who needed his service. John and I helped each other with our endeavors to learn each other's language whenever we got the chance.
I must say that the connection made with John and the other restaurant staff made up for the low gues capacity and allowed our family to feel at home and engaged with the "resort life" for our entire trip.
