The hotel is renovated and stylish, but that is it I can tell about it. Incredibly poor quality food, not tasty, poor service overall anywhere at the hotel. The only nice service was provided by the kids animation and at coffee shop. This is sad the management doesn’t invest in service and food that really is downgrading the overall performance of the hotel.

5/5 - I like the updated hotel design. looks really cool
3/5 - food is at best average . not 5 star in terms of food
0/5 - they have royal vacation club that sells timeshares . Must be a mafia and hotel gets a cut from these crooks.
I upgraded to platinum: totally worth it. premium drinks , separate beach area, separate restaurants. for low price in December was worth it. for jan - march price is 800 higher not worth it
Overall I would give it 4 star compare to other hotels in puntacana.

I don’t usually take the time to write a review. I have been to over 20 resorts in Dominican Republic and this was by far the worse. I went there with my 12 years old and my 22 years old daughter. First of all the food was the exact same every single day same 3 fruits for the 7 days (pineapple, cantaloupe, bananas) which I will add most of them were bad and moldy. The food at the buffet is the same thing every night. The restaurant are unbelievably bad, the Italian had the same tomato pasta as the buffet comes with fruits as dessert. Every restaurant took a good 2-3h of your time the food would be delivered 1h after arrival to get desert it was another 45 min majority of people would leave before getting the food. The pools were fine, the beach snack bar had barely any food and all meats were raw. Same for the sports bar the burgers were raw. The sport bar has a lot of games( pool table, basketball , bowling etc) none of them are FREE you have to pay to play. There is no room service you have to call each time and ask for toilet paper , water etc. Luckily our room phone didn’t work and we told them they didn’t replace it . And check on the video how they get good review the employ asked me to put a review and he asked me if I don’t know how he can do it for me and now check my video how they did for other people this is not right.unfortunately I have the video but we can add in review so I just show the pictures

Entertainment on an evening wasn’t much to do on evening.
Food was quite representative in the buffet
Found the staff in the sports bar quite rude especially the big guy
Tipping was a problem for me it was clear after a few days that if you didn’t tip you was over looked ,especially at the main beach bar,that if you wanted serving quickly you had to pay ,which I was prepared to do so we resorted to going to the kids pool bar with no problem
Don’t let the negatives put you off this was my personal opinion overall the hotel is amazing

I came here with my family for a week on our first family vacation and I was a little worried because of all the mixed reviews. Alot of the kid friendly resorts in punta Cana had a lot of bad reviews so I picked one and hoped for the best. I am so glad I chose this resort.
If you're a family with kids and want a resort with great food, great drinks, clean and comfortable rooms then this is the place for you. If you want more of an entertainment or party resort this definitely isn't the place. We had my 2.5 and 4 year old kids with me so we were always back at the room by 9/9:30pm but as far as I could tell not a whole lot happens after that. There is a kids show that happens every night before the adult one and it was ok. My young kids enjoyed it a lot but I feel like if your 7 or older it might be boring. They do have music playing in the lobby with a little dance floor too that my kids loved dancing to with the other kids.
I don't understand how any of these reviews can talk bad about the food or the service. The food was amazing and so fresh. The buffet food had so much selection every day and the breads were always so fresh. Paolino was so friendly and always ready to top up our coffees. We never had any problems ever getting drinks or being short on top ups. The a la carte restaurants were all amazing and we left stuffed after each one. Yes they do book up fast but I made the bookings through the app each night when they opened up the availability and I had no problem getting the time I wanted at each one. The sports bar was great for drinks and food and watching any game you want to watch. We went there a few times. Every single staff member we encountered were very friendly. Yes some didn't speak English very well but we are in another country so that's obviously going to happen. Rosemary (I believe her name was) at front desk was so friendly and helpful at check in. It was a great start to the vacation.
The grounds were immaculate always. There were always workers scrubbing the walk ways with soap and water and raking leaves. The wildlife around the resort were so calming and enjoyable my kids were so excited. They loved feeding the turtles and birds. I honestly can't say a bad thing about how clean this resort was. The trams were always easy to catch too but it wasn't that big of a walk anyways.
The rooms in the family suite were a little awkward in layout but it was the most comfortable resort bed and pillows I've ever had. The bunk beds in a separate room for my kids was a huge convenience. I just wish it was reversed for the walk out patio so when they went to bed my husband and I could have sat outside without waking them up.
I don't understand how people can say towels are a luxury. We never had a problem getting or exchanging towels. Pool and beach chairs were always plentiful so you never had to worry about that. The Beach had a lot of shade options too which was needed for us. The beach water was a little rough for my kids but great for the adults.
My only complaint is the same as some of the other reviews in the sense that if you need anything fixed you probably won't get it. Both TV's in our room stopped working on day 2. We told front desk and they said they would send someone. Noone came. So the next day we went back down there and he said he'd send someone. Again noone came so we just gave up. Luckily we didn't care because we didn't come to the resort to watch TV. We checked out and it never got fixed. That didn't effect the way we felt about our vacation at all so I didn't feel it necessary to dock a star for that.
Lastly, I agree that the people on the resort trying to sell the timeshares or whatever they consider it are very pushy and there are a lot of different people trying to sell you something but for the most part if you say no when they approach you they leave you alone. So again that didn't effect our vacation in the slightest.
Overall it was a fantastic resort and it always felt clean and comfortable which is all I could really want in a resort. I would definitely recommend this place for a relaxing and comfortable trip!
