This hotel looks great, but the functionality was horrible and our experience was awful. Their parking lot is inside an electric gate and is super small. You had to ring a button for them to let you in. Sometimes there is no space for you to park your car. When we got into our room we smelled a cigarette smell. We thought it was coming from outside of our room because the windows were open. On our bed there were little black pellets that looked like mouse droppings, after taking pics and showing the front desk, someone came up with us and assured us they were leftover remnants from an essence candle. I leaned in and sniffed it and the whole bed smelled liked cigarettes. We put two and two together and that’s why they sued a fragrance tactic to cover a smell that couldn’t be masked. They couldn’t even bother to clean it up. The reception desk was so nice and understanding and they changed our room.
This is where the next issue occurred. There was no running water. No toilet, no sink, no shower. We had just arrived after spending a whole morning at a beach and an afternoon hiking a national park. I was desperate for a shower. After I made my way back down to the reception desk, they told me that their water tank was being serviced and they had no idea when it will be finished. They were kind but extremely unhelpful. It took two hours before the water came back on.
The breakfast was alright, but nothing special. The neighborhood did not feel safe. The only good quality the hotel had was how nice the staff and receptionists were.

This hotel really makes you feel like you’re visiting family. It felt like the most authentic Costa Rican experience we had. We stayed here because it was relatively close to the airport. It was clean and the breakfast was delicious. My only complaint would be that they need softer pillows
