Sitaram Mountain Retreat exceeded my expectation in every way! It was an eye opener to me about the many different kinds of massages in Ayurveda. The Treatment, the doctors and the masseurs were very good! The entire stay from start to finish was so pleasant and peaceful, we were so relaxed and soaked in the environment! The food was very healthy and tasty too. Chef along with his staff were also very cordial and accommodated our requests within the healthy food framework! Loved the yoga studio too!
We went for a 7 day retreat, came out feeling totally rejuvenated!! Would love to go back sometime soon for a 21 day retreat!

Ayurvedic Healing in the Beautiful Western Ghats

This was my 3rd visit at Sitaram/Kaivalyam. 2022, 2023, and now this year. My purpose for the visit was internal cleansing and weight loss. I felt really great at the end of my 2 week stay. I lost 15 1/2 pounds in weight. That's 7 kilos. I will be staying again in August for 3 weeks. There are many wonderful staff members. I love them.

Thank you so much for a wonderful experience with Sitaram again!

This was my second time doing a 21-day Panchakarma treatment with Sitaram. Last year in the Beach Retreat and this time in their Mountain Retreat in Munnar. I even brought my cousin with me and we where not disappointed at all. The complete staff (including doctors, therapist, housekeeping, yoga teacher, cook, waiter, receptionist, manager, accounting staff, gardener etc.) has been outstanding and always went the extra mile to satisfy the patients.
We stayed in their Treehouses in-midst the Cardamom plantation which was a very special experience and so close to nature, just fantastic.
Also the food was again amazing and tailored to our respective needs.
Conclusion: the whole setting of the retreat is amazing and nothing to complain at all. We only would choose to come a bit earlier in the year, when their is not so much rain. Otherwise the cooler, rainy weather is perfect to concentrate on your healing.
I hardly can recommend both their retreats and sure come back next year!

An oasis of health and calm..

OVERVIEW:
We selected Sitaram's Munnar Retreat after an extensive research on wellness retreats in South India (and there would be a 100+ of them across that part of the country) and we shortlisted Sitaram initially based on their Thrissur property - which seemed stunning. We then stumbled across their Munnar retreat and since it was summer (March), it was the latter one which got us locked-in.
As it was going to be our first such experience, we were a tad cautious and requested them for a shorter-than-regular stay (5-nights) and they were graceful in accepting this request. And we believe, it was a perfect starting point for first-timers and we'll hopefully be there again and for a longer stint this time around.

PROPERTY:
Set in the midst of stunning tea gardens and cardamom plantations, the 16-cottage property is a joy to be in.
Whilst only 800m away from the highway, the retreat is quiet and serene; that said accessing the main road can be a bit of an exercise with 180+m of altitude gain; the inclines are steep to say the least.
The rooms are spacious and well-maintained, that said they are basic (no televisions or frills), but the sitouts more than make up for any lack of electronic entertained (they do have good wifi however)..

FOOD:
The food is satvik, healthy, and measured. That said, the menu is innovative and anything but boring and the food more the most part is tasteful, wholesome and flavourful.

SERVICE & AMENITIES:
The property has limited walking space, so may be a few more avenues for recreation would help. That said, they did take us for a walk into the tea plantation and for a yoga session at Munnar's botanical gardens.

TO SUM UP:
Beautiful property with clean and spacious rooms. The food, despite been exceptionally healthy & nutritious is for the most part delicious & innovative. The service across all aspect - FO, massage, clinic, restaurant, cleaning, etc. is top-notch.
We'd like thank the below for making our stay so much more wholesome.

A relaxing and rejuvenating retreat

My sister and I went for this retreat for 7 days and had the most relaxing and rejuvenating experience. The schedule, meals and the treatments are meticulously planned and focussed on your overall health and well-being. The staff is so lovely and dedicated towards giving you the best possible experience. Would highly recommend.
