I used to love Sea of Dreams as a kid, but returning to it now after all these years was a heartbreaking experience. The staff were not lively and were not very reliable; their service was slow and it was a little startling to suddenly be asked personal questions by them. The menu that we had agreed upon was not met - we had asked for grilled food and dishes featuring lowland veggies, but were served entirely different dishes instead. When we asked if we could have the fish that we bought cooked, the staff said the charge would be Php 2,000 because it was too bothersome to clean and cook the fish! Unbelievable! This has got to be the most lackluster, lukewarm, and unprofessional hospitality team I have ever encountered. If the owners want Sea of Dreams to survive and flourish, they've got to get themselves a better team. Professionals. Trained professionals. There are a lot of fresh Hospitality graduates out there, why not put out an ad?
Sea of Dreams' management knew that we were coming as we had made the reservation in advance, however, it was truly disappointing to find an untreated pool. We were all so excited to take a dip, especially the children.
Another important factor that dampened the mood was that the owner constantly hovered over us. It's just... well, weird. While we understand that Sea of Dreams has been around for a very long time, we hope that the standard of service does not fall short of what is normally expected and accepted today. Smiling and not meddling with your guests will get you long way, darling. It's one thing to ask how we're enjoying, but to constantly approach us for no reason is simply overbearing. You've got a lot things to work on, because our 2 days and 1 night stay here costed Php 27,000 plus and it wasn't really good.
Best of luck.
