Response from Frank G, Owner at Sea of Dreams Resort - Spa

Just wondering why guest decides to check in with all the negatives she noticed .. There were three resorts within three minutes away .. So why come to us ? No bike trail? now tell me which hotel in the world a bike trail in their resort .. . Swimming pool dirty ? .. I ll give you P10,000 if you drop a coin and cannot see the face of the coin at the its deepest point .. clearly .. The waves were high? .. There was a typhoon somewhere in the Philippines .. and the waves were high almost all areas in the Philippines .... Nothing to do ? Guests wanted a videoke machine but we discourage any form of activity that ruins the serenity and calmness of our resort.. .

Sea of Dreams is ideally suited for those who are seeking a respite from the maddening crowd. We spent four pleasant days in this resort, which is right on Caba beach. One could watch the surf furling white against the shore right out of their hotel room window or take a short stroll down the landscaped gardens into an open deck that offers a full view of the sea and a front row seat to gorgeous sunsets.

The owners Frank and Alice Gonzales are very kind and they treat guests and the hotel staff like family and friends. I particularly appreciate how they've gone the extra mile to make sure we were comfortable and would enjoy our stay: When they found out that my grandma is on a wheelchair, they quickly built makeshift ramps outside our room and around the property. They were also constantly checking to make sure we were alright and well cared for by the resort staff, all of whom exemplify Filipino hospitality.

The resort serves simple Filipino comfort food. The menu wasn’t very extensive and as we dined there all of our four-day stay, we sampled pretty much everything on the menu and had repeats of some dishes like pinakbet and grilled fresh fish.

Sea of Dreams is off the beaten track and could be a tad too quiet with very few activity options for guests. But if you are happy to while the hours away reading, watching sunsets, swimming and taking walks down the beach, it could just be the place you’re looking for.

Advantages of this resort will be the hospitality of the owners, the ambience and the beautiful surroundings. The disadvantages that I was able to observe was the smelly bathroom and noisy air conditioning in the room upstairs the cottage and the beach is not that good for swimming because jellyfish of any size and color are everywhere. Overall, we had fun and we might come back again. :)

The owner of the place is very warm and accommodating making us feel like we’re family! She even told me and my hubby to call her Tita Alice and family na daw kami. The resort was well maintained and clean. We just stayed overnight and didn’t get the chance to enjoy the resort because we are still heading up north! I’m glad our paths crossed Tita Alice! If given a chance to be back there someday, me and my family will surely go back to your resort! Your resort should be renamed to sea of love! ❤️❤️❤️ God bless u po and thank u for your warm welcome! We arrived Dec 26 6:30pm.

One of the worst ever. Zero customer service. Very unfriendly staff. Had a power shortage overnight, despite having a generator they didnt even bothered to turn it on so we were all drenched in sweat & obviously a sleepless night. Morning came we asked & staff said nobody knew how to use the generator. Its pathetic to buy a generator & nobody would know how to use it. Spoken to the owner but was very rude & even walked out on us when confronted with this customer service dilema. Told us to check out if we are unhappy. Not even a simple apology to ease us up. At their website they claim to offer free breakfast on all room rates but beware coz they DONT. During booking the owner hands out old advertisement materials with outdated pricelist & rates. Very poor customer service. Dirty swimming pool. Rooms are leaking from rain apart from being filthy & dirty. A very bad decision to stay here. Cannot recommend this resort which claims to be world class. Really? We booked for over 20 persons & all u could do is NOTHING? We are all left disgusted as we checked out a day earlier.

There are two things that make my stay a happy one when I travel:
1. Hospitality
2. Cleanliness
...and Sea of Dreams was able to deliver it...people in the resort made my stay a really relaxing one. What you see is what you get (from their website): inviting pool, clean beach, functional rooms and very attentive and accommodating staff. Frank and Alice (owners) made me feel like I'm with family. That and, the food is prepared according to your liking.

Of course, to each their own, people will nitpick any given detail, the price may not be for backpackers and the location is a little remote, but if you are looking for a quiet retreat and a serene environment that is just like home, then Sea of Dreams may be an option for you.

Antique resort with outdated amenities.
Wel kept and clean yes. But is it worth 2500? Not really. There was no free breakfast, food selection was sad to look at, food was seriously overpriced. Bottomline, id never go back to this place again not worth the time and money.

We were on our way to Vigan/Pagudpud when we decided to stop over in this resort as it was late already around 10pm. The owner, Alice, gave us a discount with our stay.. The price was 8,500 and she said she will give it to us for 7,500.. we negotiated for 7,000 and she agreed.. It was really nice of her to give us such discount.. We asked if there is a free breakfast and she said there isn't.. However, they have a restaurant/cafe and that we can order our breakfast there and we agreed.. She gave us the menu and we told them ahead of time of what we wanted for the next day. Prices of their breakfast meals were 200 pesos each and we were ok with it.. However during our check out, meals were increased to 250 per meal in our receipt.. I complained about it and Alice told me that prices in their menu have already changed and asked me if i wasn't informed last night which i wasn't.. I told them they should change their menu as it is very misleading to their customers. Also my brother in law ordered 2 canned soda the night we arrived and he paid 60 pesos each however.. Our breakfast bill showed a price of 80 when my mom in law ordered one.. Very misleading.. Alice told me that we already got a good discount with our stay and should in fact be ok with her prices.. I told her that the hotel stay was agreed the night before and should not be an issue here but how she priced our meals.. She eventually lowered the total bill of our breakfast from 2,280 to 2100..

I would also like to comment about their bathrooms, its dirty and stinky.. Smells like someone peed on the floor and didn't clean it.. One of our shower heads was taped with electrical tape and broke when i was having a shower...

Those were the only negative things i found about the hotel..

Positives were the nicely decorated resort especially at night.. We were also able to enjoy the beach:. Hospitality was also good
especially manang charing..

We stayed overnight, the room was fine, except for the clogged toilet and the not cooling aircon. The swimming pool was clear but we had allergies (two of us) after only minutes in it.The beach was not what we expected.there were pointed rocks and wires! This property is nice to look at.it might be pretty in pictures but it badly needs renovations and improvements.Best part would be the kind and helpful Staff. All of them especially the kitchen people were very courteous and pleasant.

4 of us (couples) stayed for 1 day before moving to another resort which we had pre booked.
Cleanliness in rooms and swimming pool was questionable. It is a not so well mantained resort.
positives:
owner was very accomodating, we were allowed to cook by ourselves. My friend and I being Chefs' made the most of it
