Phuket Sandbox 2021

Review of Patong Resort
Reviewed Oct 29, 2021
Hi all, I was there few days ago. I booked this hotel in the context of the Sandbox scheme as it was still in place when I landed in Phuket mid-October. Not my first time in this hotel, and again I was very pleased. Friendly saff, perfect location, big pool where you can chill, walking distance from the beach, park for motorbikes if you rent one, clean and nice rooms (I had a deluxe). Only the bathroom is aging a bit and would need to be refreshed but it is clean so dont worry. The quality remained the same over years and I was happy to support them. I invite you to do the same. If its within your budget and if you want to stay in Patong, it is a good choice. During my stay the mandatory stay was reduced from 14 to 7 days and they offered to refund me the difference if I decided to leave after 7 days but I stayed. I found this gesture of goodwill very fair considering that it was fully paid up. Special thanks to Ying for her kind assistance, as always.

Good location in Patong close to everything but of course in October 2021 must everything is closed. Very nice big pool. Small but OK gym. Clean. Very service minded staff. Stayed for 7 days on the sandbox scheme. It is an old hotel but maintained well.

Doing a mini road trip around Southern Thailand and popped into Patong, after driving around for 30-40 mins to find an area with Hotels open, we luckily found Patong Resort. What a gem, close to all amenities, staff were excellent and all very excited to see welcome us, we were the only guests in this huge complex. Stayed in room 461 overlooking the pool, the room has everything you need. They even gave us COVID packs, a small bag containing hand sanitizer and masks. So please if you're looking for place to relax during this time, please support this resort, its worth it.

Due to our first hotel being totally unsuitable we found another Hotel and went for a walk to check it out , We spoke with the staff at reception explaining our situation and that we needed 8 nights , We explained we would like a Deluxe room . The Staff were only to willing to assist and asked us if we would like to view the Room before deciding . A member of staff showed us up to the 3rd floor where we were shown a beautiful room which we were very happy with . It had everything we needed except it was a Twin and we let them know we needed a Double room . We were informed that the Double rooms did not have a view of the Pool view but this was not an issue for us . We did all the formalities on returning with our luggage . As check in was at 2pm they agreed to have our cases in our room on our return.
On returning we went to reception and collected the key card and were informed that as all of the Deluxe Double rooms were fully booked and they had upgraded us to a Premium Deluxe Room .
The Room was on the 3rd Floor at the End of the Wing and was one of two Premium Deluxe Rooms . The Room was Huge with a large Bathroom with a large Bath as well as a seperate shower with every amenity , There was a Large King Bed , a Large flatscreen TV , The Balcony outside was the Largest I have experienced and encompassed both sides of the Room with Views to the Hills of Patong . The Room was 42 square metres . It did have an interconnecting Door .
Breakfast was included which was a Buffet with Asian and Western Favourites . An Egg station etc , The Resort has 325 Rooms in 4 wings , with 2 very large swimming pools and a Childrens Pool . An Italian Restaurant , Roof top Steak House and a Japanese Restaurant and a Roof Top Cocktail Bar with nightly Happy Hours where Cocktails are only 100 Baht ($5) The views take in Patong Beach as well the Hills and towards Bangla Rd and the Sunsets are pretty good photo opportunitys .
On the 4 night of our stay there was an issue with very Noisy Neigbours but the staff handled it very well . We were moved to an Executive Suite on the 5th Floor which was 76 square Metres . Also on the end of the Wing and with a seperate Dining area and far more facilities , we could not believe it .
We had a fantastic stay , the Staff were always helpfull and always smiling . The food was very good and the Cocktails were very strong . Highly recommend .

This hotel is big. Has two main buildings. One more noisy at reception and the other a little bit more quite. Access to the beach is easy… 5 min walking. Close to restaurants, shops, supermarkets and the nightlife of Patong.
Rooms are big, well equipped. Part of the group stood on the main building. My room was on the other building, close to the second pool, gym. Large, clean, well equipped with room.
Overall is good but pricy for the quality.
