If you want a relaxing and friendly place to stay you can't go wrong with the Sunset Beach Resort. On arrival you are greeted by the friendly and helpful staff reception staff. We had a mix up with our rooms (that happened with the people we booked with before we left), but it was Quickly sorted out and hassle free by the reception staff. The rooms are a bit old compared to the new resorts, but in saying that they are clean and fresh, and airconditioned, with there own little balconys. Shower and bath, room service and all you need.
The resort has a daily breakfast, lunch and dinner, with fabulous fresh food. Watching the sunset with a perfectly made cocktail in hand (banana diquori was my favourite) by their friendly and talented bar staff is a must. Thank you Pea :).
A wonderful pool area, with a waterfall with a seperate spa seclude in the top of the water fall. The resort has a swim up bar (being renovated when we stayed) but have no fear, there is a free standing bar right near the pool, with the ever helpful and smiling Staff (Thank you, Gous, (Smiley) always ready with a towel or a icey cold Chang.
All the staff treat you with such kindness and respect and always ready to help or lend a hand.
Now if you didnt think you could relax more... guess what? The Sunset Resort also has a Day Spa run by the Beautiful Manager Atitaya.
Atitaya and her amazing staff will welcome you and help you with a wonderful variety of massagers, from head to toe that pamper your weiry bodies needs. The facial is divine. And with a specia Thai herbal cuppa and biscuits to finish your session, I truley recommend taking the time to treat yourself. Thank you Atitaya and the beautiful team of ladies, can't wait to see you all again.
Now if you want out and about, there is a courtesy shuttle that runs about every hour, and drops you into the heart of Patong Beach. If you need there are also Tuk Tuk's available right outside the resort, 200baht into town. Or about a 10 to 15minute walk to all Patong Beach has to offer.
Sunset Beach Resort is also located right near night food markets, 7 eleven, restaurants, laundries and so much more.
A truley great located resort for all your Phuket hoilday needs with amazingly friendly, lovely, helpful and wonderful staff.

This place would deserve more than 5 stars under all the aspects. Location wise it was situated exactly where I prefer a beach hotel to be. Peaceful stay. You can reach Carnival magic - Fantasea show within 20 minutes by car. Bangla road within 20-30 minutes depending upon traffic. Go out and venture into the craziest streets of Bangla road / Patong but then you return to the calm atmosphere here in. Such a beauty.

Good sized and clean bedroom and bathroom. Bed, linens and pillows were comfortable enough. I appreciate that there is a transparent wall separating the shower from the rest of the bathroom so it doesn't get wet. Bathtub facility is lovely if you're planning for your honeymoon - glass window from where you can see the room. Friendly and helpful staff. They offer spa and massage services.

Two things I loved the most:
1. They offer a free, complimentary shuttle bus service to Patong / Bangla road everyday from 9:30 am to 8:30 pm. 10 seater vehicle. Loved this service.
2. Food and drinks are appetizing, plus lots of street food options nearby. Great outdoor bar area. Grab a bottle of Chang / Singha beer and enjoy the sunset on the beach. The pool gives you good vibes, nice & clean - just get in the water and relax.

Lastly, get the balcony if you can, it’s worth it! And I repeat... great value for money! I would surely search for availability at Sunset Beach Resort, if I was going back to Patong beach, Phuket.

The hotel is old and in need of updating was proberly nice years ago. Our room smelt musty and damp which was quite off putting. The food was poor in standard and perhaps the worst part was the staff were very racist which was disappointing because this was the only place we experienced projections of other people's ignorance in Thailand. The receptionist at times ignored us to serve guests clearly standing behind us. When we rang room service having arrived late they didn't answer. This was very upsetting as it could have been an emergency. I would not visit this hotel again and its location is quite far out from the local strip and Patong Beach luckily we found some great spots and Thai people so didn't have to spend much time in the hotel.
