The hotel was great, and they have a shuttle to Jungceylon every half hour which helped us get to the action without having to spend extra money on Tuk Tuks coz it's a little bit of a walk to the main swimming beaches. (The one across the road isn't really a swimming beach but people swim and surf there, it's nice and quiet). The staff were all helpful and friendly (besides one lady at the motorbike rental counter, but she might have just been having a rough day, who knows!). The breakfast was also nice- it was the first time a hotel's omelette station didn't have meat, so we didn't have to worry about contamination and could eat the eggs (but the buffet had bacon and sausages so non-muslims are well taken care of too).

We enjoyed the sea facing room and waking up to the beach everyday, but if you have light sleepers, consider the pool facing rooms as there's a constant buzz of traffic so it doesn't really quieten down on the road/sea facing rooms.

It's also in a great location for Muslim clients, as there's a ton of street food carts right outside the hotel that have halal Thai foods and kebabs and stuff too so it's very convenient. We also found 2 halal restaurants that don't serve alcohol about 400m away. There's also a mosque 400m away in the other direction so makes prayers easy too.

Very impressed with this hotel. The location is a short free shuttle bus away from the mail strip, which is a godsend, as the nightlife gets crazy in the evening and your far enough away for it not to be in your face all the time.
Rooms were spotless and cleaned everyday, pool was very clean and although there is a sign saying no reserving sunbeds and towels will be removed, this was never unforced and it was a struggle to get a bed sometimes. Free buffet breakfast is adequate to get you started in the morning, there's something for everyone.....a big shutout to the omlette making station, who worked non stop and always with a smile to cook your eggs the way you wanted them fresh.
We ate in the hotel resturant a couple of times and both times to food was lovely, if ever you don't want to wander to far from the hotel give it a try.
Always found the colleagues who work here very friendly and helpful, just a few who I remember Ton, Jib & Saw.
The one downside is there isn't much of a beach outside the hotel but it's just a short walk to a couple of smaller beach sections and like I said a free shuttle ride to the main beach.
I would def stay here again if I was back in the area, it suited my needs perfectly.

This review is way overdue! My boyfriend and I stayed here in December 2019 and one of the days on our way out of the room I closed the bedroom door behind me and it locked instantly. I went down to reception to let them know that I could not get back into our room and they sent up two guys - Min and So. These guys were amazing! They arrived with a wad of keys (probably for all the rooms at the hotel) and one by one they tried every key to try and open up our bedroom door. They were so friendly and helpful!

In South Africa, we would normally tip for this service, however, when I tried to give them a tip for all of their troubles they didn't want to accept the money and kindly ask that I write a review instead and so here I am! So to Min and So, a HUGE thank you, you guys are rockstars!

We stayed at Sunset Beach Resort hotel for a couple of nights and they helped us book transport to the harbor for us to catch a boat to Phi Phi islands, which we stayed at for two nights. While booking the transport we asked if we could book a room on our return from Phi Phi as we still had a full day in Phuket before our flight late that evening. We explained that we wanted to book a room to store our luggage and freshen up after touring for the day before making our way to the airport. Sunset Beach Resort kindly allowed us to use their pool shower facilities after arriving back from Phi Phi at no additional charge and provided us with a place to store our luggage! Most hotels would've taken advantage of this and insisted we book an extra day but they were kind enough to allow us to use the facilities for free to freshen up.

They also have a shuttle that runs if I can remember correctly from 9am to 9pm every day to and from Bangala Road, so you save a lot of money on transport as many of the Tuk Tuk drivers are quite expensive. However, with that being said - use a Tuk Tuk at least once while in Phuket because it is quite an experience!

So overall, if you're looking for a reasonably priced hotel in Phuket with amazing service then look no further!

Hotel Sunset Beach Resort is an amazing hotel located just outside the Patong Beach with a view of the mesmerising sea. The staff is polite and helpful as well. We were staying in Room 1415 and you could always call upon Ms. Chotoe and Ms. Ni to assist you with all your house- keeping and room service needs.

Sunset Beach resort is located right in front of the beach with amazing view in the evening from the open restaurant. The rooms are very clean and spacious.
The staff are very courteous and helpful. Special mention has to be made regarding housekeeping staff, Ms Wee, for being available all time and making our room look fresh every morning. She made extra efforts to keep us comfortable. Overall very very satisfying stay.

Overall a decent stay. Upon early arrival at the hotel we were checked in early by the manager at no extra cost. The rooms are decently maintained clean and hygienic. We stayed in room no 1204 and 1205. Housekeeping staff Moon, V Aung and Mwe are good in understanding the needs of the hotel guests and respond in very positive manner to fulfil the requests. God bless them.

This is a perfect place. The location is a little bit outside of Patong but they offer a free shuttle every 30 minutes, so you can be in the action or in total peace when you want.

The staff is great and our room maid, Swe and Aye Moe are so kind it is just fantastic. They deserve the golden star for their attitude and the perfection of the job they do.

Also a gentleman who stop what he was doing in early morning, just because I needed towels befor the opening. Chit-Goot was cleaning the pool but he saw before I had to ask that I needed something and he helped me with a smile.

First time in Thailande for me and These people are so amazing, I will surely come back and choose this hotel.

I was in room 2401, the best located room in the place. It is a privilege to be there.

So much potential in hotel if they actually spent money on it, the location is good 5min taxi from all the nightlife and beach, when you walk into reception it’s like stepping back in time, the furniture in poor condition and dated, the pool are is lovely but again not cleaned enough and rubbish sits on tables, the rooms , not clean , hair in bath where someone been grooming and makes on side of bath from someone’s shower gel, ewww, the room is decent size but again miss matching wood furniture and paint peeling off walls to show massive crack, the air con is poor and doesn’t cool room, no plug sockets near bed so charge phone at other side of room, pool bar is abandoned so why advertised it when it never opens, rock bar looks uninviting and is closed by 5 not midnight as stated, hotel attracted a lot of Indian tourists but these are the only tourist that don’t grab relaxation, shouting to each other from balcony to pool etc, others looked on in disgust, this was constant and was all Indian visitors , no real places for food or drinks near by, would I visit again??? If this place was knocked down and started again maybe.
Cleaner doesn’t get the grasp of do not disturb sign she just comes in

They have their own pool, but you have to go down to the bar that is connected to the pool. They will ask you to write down your room information and how many towels you will be borrowing. And I believe the towels have to be back by 7pm. They also have a shuttle bus every half hour that takes you to Bangla road. But other then that, that's all I know.

Hi, there is Indian & vegetarian but I’m sure if you advise the hotel they can tell you your options. On numerous occasions for breakfast they have vegetarian & Indian options as a lot of guest are from India so they cater.
