Good value hotel on a big block

Review of Puri Padi Hotel
Reviewed Jun 19, 2023via mobile
We stayed just 3nights at Puri Padi and would easily stay again next time. Spacious guiet rooms on a big block at Hanoman street. We loved the large balcony and gardens. The staff friendly and helpful.
With regards to a review I read regarding the offensive guest, I noticed the “walking man” however he never bothered us at all.
Good value hotel that we recommend

WARNING!! AND 10 STARS AFTER.
May 2023
unfortunately there is a psychopath who lives in number 601 who has been given permission by the real management at the hotel to settle in the former restaurant which acts as a passage to the hotel, this means that every time you pass through he overwhelms guests with various obscenities and threats , in the end it was my wife it went beyond, it is unbelievable how a man is allowed to harass the guests from the higher management, I cannot recommend anyone to use this lovely hotel as long as this person stays here,
otherwise I only have 100% good things to say about this hotel and staff, the hotel is centrally located in the center of Ubud, close to everything in town and with all options to use as a base for the rest of Ubud,
The hotel is perfectly set back from the main street and from here no noise is heard, not even when sitting on the large covered terrace, which is in all 20 rooms with a private entrance from the outside to all with clean, nice air conditioning, and a nice swimming pool at the end of the area,
the rooms are a bit worn but they are cleaned by the nicest cleaning staff who like to put fresh flowers on the table, they are extremely user-friendly and now they are slowly starting to renovate and renew the interior after the Covid 19 shutdown,
the staff, from the gardener, the waiter, the kitchen lady to the cleaning ladies are simply some of the sweetest and the smiles we have met on our many travels, they all deserve at least 10 stars,
and one thing is for sure, if we come back to Bali again, what we are already betting on, it will be at this hotel again, but with the caveat that this sick man will be removed from the hotel, which we will ask about his presence before we book in, until then any new guests must ask if this man has been removed from the hotel before they book in..

Room tip: to avoid any unpleasantness with the aforementioned person who has settled in the former restaurant I will inquire about his presence before

To the Director (in Jakarta) of Puri Padi hotel in Ubud.
For the second time I arrived at Puri Padi hotel on May 1st. to stay there for a month.
Looking forward to meet some of the kindest people I have ever met in a Hotel.
I wasn't disappointed, the welcome back was heartwaring.
Everyone the Manager, the Gartners, the waiters, the cleaners, yes everyone engaged at the Hotel takes care of you in the most kindly and loving way.
I just love this Hotel.
Unfortunately there was a guest who distroyed my happiness.
An American guest who believed HE was the owner of the Hotel.
He was the first week sitting in the breakfast area on a high chair overlooking the guests. Then he moved to a large area of the former restaurant. Still being able to overlook the other guests.
Walking to and from one end to the other across the place talking to himself.
On Saturday 27'th he occupied the whole area with his guests.
Trying to go through quick and quietly, I was told to go away and around the back side. My answer was that I lived in the Hotel. Emidiatly he told me to be quiet and I passed without any response.
With my back turned away he made a fun of me saying "she probably needs a cigarette" and laughed.
He enjoyed making a fool of me in public.
Next day I went to him saying " can we have a conversation?"
Emidiatly he went absolutely crazy and shouted out.
"Get out of my face, shut up bit.., go to hell crazy bit..". His shouting made everyone coming forward looking at the incident.
Everyone tried to apologize for his behavior, but, I said they didn't need to apologize.
I now hope in the future, that persons like this dispecable narsissistic man with owner feelings will be stopped having a stay at this wonderful hotel ever again.
Neither guests not the lovely people working there shall tolerate this behavior from a gust like everyone else.

.

Lovely traditional Balinese style hotel with villa style accommodations set in landscaped gardens. It’s great value but if you are looking for luxury and an elevator, you might be happier elsewhere. Air con worked brilliantly and there’s plenty of hot water. The pool is a wonderful space to relax after a day’s sightseeing too!

Room tip: Ask for a ground floor room if you have lots of heavy bags! Staff will help you of course but it’s easier on the lower floors.

Old fashioned, traditional Balinese hotel. We stayed here for 3 nights whilst in Ubud. The hotel is charming however a little dated! Everything in the room was clean but the bath could have done with being updated. That being said there was plenty of hot water! The people make this hotel they are just so welcoming, always taking time out to speak to you. Breakfast is basic; an omelette and toast and jam etc and help yourself to coffee and tea. It sets you up for the day. The hotel is so near to Monkey forest and right in the heart of Ubud!
We didn’t use the pool whilst there.
Thank you for looking after us during our stay 😍

Traditional Balinese architecture and lovely grounds, but.......

The room smelled damp, the bed linen smelled, the painted brick walls seemed oppressive, opening windows (rather than just a patio door) wouldn't close unless you went outside and slammed them, the sliding shutter across the window was stiff and awkward to manoeuvre. The bath was slippery, the shower over very weak and the bathroom needed redecorating. No Eng Lang TV and local TV channels limited

Good size balcony, good size pool

Breakfast menu limited

After 2 nights found somewhere else
