Hotels in Tel Aviv are very expensive, especially for solo travelers. I was lucky to find Hotel Metropolitan which provides single rooms at affordable price.
Location is great, just one block from the beach. Supermarkets are very close by on Ben Yehuda st. You could walk along the beach promenade to Jaffa old town in about 20-30 minutes.
Single room is small but enough space to accommodate single person. There’s a small window in the room if you want fresh air. All rooms are non-smoking. No cigarette smell in the room. Bathroom is also small but adequate. Quality of toiletries is also pretty good. Room only has european-type sockets — bring your own adapter.
Hotel has on-site gym and pool but didn’t use on this trip - there’re many things to do outside hotel. Beach is just a few steps away.
Public transportation - there’s a bus stop nearby. You can take bus number 4 to HaHagana train station, central bus station or Carmel market.
Breakfast is great! A lot of selections with both cold and hot dishes.
Great service from the staffs, especially Ahmad the night time manager.
Overall I’m impressed with this hotel.

Been using this hotel for the past 5 years. Very friendly and nice staff. Descent breakfast buffet, there are a lot of selections. Nice swimming pool. Even though it’s a busy hotel the staff are always willing to help.

This has been an awesome visit and the staff at this hotel have made it possible. They are very amiable, professional in their services and quite welcoming. I love the location (proximity to virtually everything), the view, quietness and the clean environment. I’ll like to recognize Mashharawi Ahmad the night duty manager and Widdad for their professionalism, kindness and hospitality.

Getting in unexpectedly early, the hotel nightManager, Mashharawl Ahmad couldn’t have been more accommodating. Seeing to our needs and making us feel comfortable. The Hotel is lovely and very near the beach and the well known Carmel Market. Our meal, headed by Zvulun, the restaurant Manager was very tasty and included local food choices. After traveling over 24 hours to arrive in Tel Aviv at our hotel at 5 am, we were warmly welcomed by the hotel night manager Mashharawi Ahmad. The hotel was fully booked but he made a notation in his system to expedite getting us in a room as soon as one became available. While waiting we enjoyed a delicious complimentary buffet breakfast by restaurant manager Zvulun. Hotel location is one minute to the beach and close to Carmel Market.
