Me and my family have stayed at the Andaman Seaside Resort for about 7 years 2 times per year and absolutely love staying here.

The manager Anil is one of the reasons we go back so regularly as he will go above and beyond what we would expect from someone, giving us the peace of mind knowing that we are totally looked after whilst in a foreign country.

I have been operated on whilst in Phuket a few years ago and will never forget the way he looked after my wife (who is registered blind) whilst I was taken into hospital, brilliant.

It is perfectly placed close to everything (shop, massage, beach etc) and the rooms are cleaned daily and we have never had to complain about anything in all our stays.

The rooms are spacious, maybe a little dated, but so long as they are kept clean we are more than happy. I agree with a previous comment that sometimes there is some noise from a bar behind the hotel in another street, but that isn’t the hotels fault.

We normally spend 2 months on each visit and have become friends with the staff and other hotel guests who also return each year.

We used to stay in the Best Western Hotel across the road before we decided to stay in the Andaman, again that is another really nice hotel, but we prefer the smaller more personal time at this hotel.

We go back in 2 weeks to enjoy our longest stay of 4 months (also visiting Cambodia & Vietnam) and whilst we visit those country’s the manager let’s us leave our main luggage with him which is brilliant for us, can’t wait to get back

Andaman Seaside Resort is everything you'd expect of a post-Covid hotel at this price point. Sure, the rooms looked like they were stuck in the early 2010's. Sure, the pandemic decimated businesses around the area (despite what Google Maps indicated were supposedly opened). But you get clean rooms and bedding, the staff are thoughtful (Dev is your go-to person for every need), and the free WiFi is sufficient for travel needs (but don't expect HD streaming).

I did not choose the breakfast option, so I can't comment on that. Some other travellers commented on the loud music from the nearby bar. It wasn't as bad at my unit (115), so ask Dev for this the next time you're here.

This spot in Bang Tao is perfect for travellers who want a fairly central location without the bustling action of Patong, but just enough local activity as opposed to the overly sanitised and tourist-centric Kata. I zipped around in a scooter (ask Dev for the Tiger King for great scooter rates) -- Phuket Old Town was about 40 mins away, Patong was about 25 mins. Any further, and I'd take a Bolt (much cheaper than Grab). Avoid the local taxis that charge exorbitant flat rates. FoodPanda serves this area excellently. Head north toward Layan beach for an even quieter beach experience.

Unfortunately, the monsoon arrived early this year, so snorkelling around the coast was impossible unless you head out to the other islands. Storms were intermittent throughout my stay, so some afternoons were spent sheltered in the room with the free-roaming cats in the resort. They can be very needy.
