I was in Barcelona for a long week-end last week and decided to invite a friend of mine on Friday, May 14 at Lasarte Restaurant.

I had a wonderful experience at Martin Berasategui resaurant in Lasarte village (Basque Country) 2 years ago and knowing he also had another 3*** Michelin restaurant in Barcelona, a city that I love, I could not miss this opportunity and was very lucky (probably due to Covid) to be able to get a reservation.

We arrived at 13h00 and left at 16h45 almost 4 hours later. There are only 2 restaurants 3*** Michelin in Barcelona. Lasarte and ABaC.

It's a contemporary-style restaurant with a very nice decoration. Cuisine is innovative and creative.

We opted for the Tasting Menu

1. Appetizers
2. Pickled oyster with hibiscus, white garlic and purple shiso granita
3. Cod confit with sour cream, mustard and kale
4. Squid tartare with liquid egg yolk, onion and kaffir consommé
5. Tempered scarlet shrimp with its coral soup
6. Fennel risotto with lobster and barnacles
7. Wagyu ravioli and glazed eel, iodized cream, horseradish and caviar
8. Grilled turbot, red shrimp, roasted tomato and pink grapefruit
9. Lamb shoulder with aubergine miso, crispy sweetbread, spicy juice
10. Cardamom spheres, apple and yogurt
11. Coconut and black sesame
12. Petits-fours

My favorite dishes were the Pickled oyster with hibiscus, white garlic and purple shiso granita and the tempered scarlet shrimp with its coral soup. It was so tasty. And I have to say that the dessert Cardamom spheres, apple and yogurt was to die for.

We decided to have only champagne during this fantastic lunch and I opted for a Ruinart Blanc de Blancs which was perfect!

Our lunch was like the Vivaldi "Four Seasons - Spring and Summer". It was colorful, beautiful, a perfect harmony!

The service is high level, professional and friendly. What I loved the most is the size of the table! You really have space and the sofa is wonderful.

At the end of our lunch, the Chef Paolo Casagrande came to greet all the guests.

A classic restaurant with original cuisine and excellent service.

One of the best degustation menu I’ve had so far and happy to be able to enjoy the experience while catching up with an old friend!
Extensive, innovative and well-balanced creations done in every possible ways to tease your senses. There was Uni too 😈 I tried sweetbread for the first time, served w a beautifully done lamb. We paired the journey with local Catalan wines, we love to try all sorts & support local. Service was impeccable as well. A truly deserving 3* restaurant!

Great restaurant at the highest level with a classic, elegant and traditional service. Innovative cuisine, very detailed and very tasty. Original blends with surprising ingredients that make the experience subtle and vibrant. A safe value! 3 stars at its finest !

A must when visiting Barcelona.

Went for a business meal with one of our top partners. Had a great time enjoying a delicious tasting menu. Wine selection was superb. Not cheap nbut well worth it
