You might go there because it is said to be the oldest ongoing restaurant in Barcelona, from 1785. In any case the best reasons to go there are the location, in the outstanding Ciutat Vella, the atmosphere of the very nice building, and the very honest type of cooking. Here you are served traditional Catalan food, a very good one. It will be crowded, please book in advance.

When you enter this restaurant you can see their history perched on their wall and decor. Service was good but a bit rushed for a not very busy evening.
Food ranged from average to good, nothing spectacular. We all opted for the 1786 Special Set Menu. The different dishes were served hot and the portions were on the larger size. The one dish that stood out was the Beans with the blood sausage - very good flavors! We ordered a glass of the house wine each and it was a large pour of acceptable wine.
The prices were fair so it was ok to try at least once.

Had to be done. I booked, good job too, friday in February and very busy. Great paella, interesting (in a nice way) staff, all a bit miserable so the challenge was to make them smile, which they did !! Very reasonably priced for such a famous restaurant

We absolutely loved Can Culleretes. We went for lunch with children and we were greeted with a smile and an amazing service from start to finish. The food was wonderful - we ordered a variety of things to share and throughly enjoyed them all. We’d highly recommend this restaurant to anyone!

The service was grand, the prices fair and the deserts were magic. But the crab pasta salad was a shock when they used imitation crab. Both our main dishes were over cooked. Too dry, which was sad. Still pleased we went. Go check it out, decide for yourself.
