The food here was to die for, iy was lovely and home cooked and large portion.
Wine was great and the price was good.
This place opened a few nights per week at 8pm so we got there just before opening and had no problem getting a table. It don’t seem full and no one was turned away.

The lady on the older “door” was quite rude and abrupt to everyone but the waiter was lovely.
It was my favourite meal of the trip.

The oldest restaurant in Barcelona. Spacious, comfortable seating, real painting on the wall. Service is brisk and not very friendly maybe because they generally do not speak English. The food was really good. went for pre-fix seafood special for 49 euros including drink and desert. All kinds of seafood with no sides with a piece of bread. It was delicious. Hours of operations are very limited. Make reservations.

This was a very busy restaurant with lots of history but I ordered the suckling pig that was very overcooked and tough. It was not enjoyable at all. My daughter had the lamb which was average. I would definitely not go back here.

Great place for traditional Spanish food. This was my third visit after going here on previous trips to Barcelona. The set menu is ridiculous value, given you get 3 courses, bread and a drink. I had a half bottle of red wine. There is a choice of around 10 dishes for each course on the set menu, plus a reasonable priced a La crate menu. It is worth booking, as when I arrived prior to it opening for lunch at 1pm there was a sizeable queue and a lot of the tables were reserved, although there are a lot of tables

The 'oldest' restaurant lived up to its fame. My zarzuela brought tasty Catalunian memories, and the paellas for others were appealing.
