My hubby paid well over the odds for what he thought was a deluxe room. Not deluxe and hotel under construction....no tea /coffee making facilities...had to go to reception to use the naff coffee machine. Very dodgy area of Barcelona. Very much a red light hotel, which i am not bothered about but if you are dont stay.
Disgusting hotel- don't stay here if you want any peaceful sleep. The hotel is a well know knocking shop and is more like a brothel. The curtains are all drawn outside, its very dark and seedy. The staff are also suspicious, and were often seen in a back room away from the desk. We sound out they separate tourists from clients, however we had a bad end of the bargain and heard nothing but people at it for 4 days! Have complained to booking.com as they fail to mention any of this, and they are not willing to help us.
We travel a lot to Barcelona and make a point to try new places as you can find hidden gems (restaurants, bars, cafes etc). We stayed in this hotel for one night a few months ago in a standard room and was blown away by its luxury decor, low mood lighting, excellent and friendly staff.
It's a 2 star because (I guess) there are no tea making or ironing facilities in the room but otherwise its a 5-star hotel with immaculately clean rooms, bedding and bathroom.
This time we upgraded to a bigger superior room. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable and the bedding was of good quality. Bedding and bathroom towels were changed on a daily basis.
This is a love hotel so yes there are occasional moans of delight but privacy is valued and you cannot see out of the windows but the hotel is in a quiet area but just 5 minutes from the metro and magic fountain and a 20-25 minute leisurely walk to Las Ramblas There are some amazing bars, restaurants and food stores within a few minutes walk and we prefer eating with locals.
We have already booked our return trip to stay again during our next trip to Barcelona as love the location and hotel. A special thank you to Teresa for making our stay enjoyable.
Stay away!! This is not a hotel!! This is a place for a quick shag (maybe hidden brothel), where you can rent a room by hour! Rude and arrogant staff. My worst experience, as it wasn't clear on Booking.com.
Stayed here in October 2017. Booked through Booking.com. Only on closer inspection was it clear that this hotel caters for clientele that wish to indulge in illicit encounters. You can even rent the rooms by the hour. As many other reviewers have stated, the walls are thin and the other customers are often drunk and loud at all hours (and positions apparently).
The windows don't open, so no view. There's no more storage than a coat hook (they don't expect guests for longer than a couple of hours).
