I stayed at Hotel Casa Elliot for five nights. This is a brand new hotel which has taken an older building and completely rehabilitated it into a modern, chic, urban oasis. The lobby is most welcoming and features areas to sit and relax along with numerous photo books available to peruse. My room featured a Queen bed, large flat panel television, ample wardrobe storage, hot water kettle, mini bar, complimentary water upon arrival, a sizable modern bathroom with walk-in shower and plenty of natural light emanating from the sliding glass doors. On my first night I had an issue with the heating system which was not working. I brought it to the attention of one of the staff and by the end of the day it was fixed. Regarding temperature, although each room has individual climate control, note that some rooms get quite warm regardless of the outside temperature, so even in winter, you may still need to use air conditioning. While all staff from housekeeping to front desk were always friendly, attentive and helpful, I’d like to acknowledge the extra effort Alex made to make me feel like a welcome guest at this hotel. If I find myself in Barcelona again, I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here.
