Stayed here one night with my 6yo. Location right near beach, gothic quarter. Expensive touristy area.

The staff were friendly and helpful with info we needed.

We did a free walking tour while we were there and got a recommendation to a bar with Spanish dancing (20min show) which was around the corner and I’d highly recommend it for the price it was. Good for kids as it was a short show after dinner.

Make sure you have some spare change on your for the per person city taxes (everywhere in Spain).

This is best described as a guest house but none the worse for that. I occupied a double room with a balcony and you cannot fault the location. A 3 minute walk to La Born, 2 minutes to the marina and just a little further to El Gotico. The nearest metro is also only about 2 minutes away.

The room was spotlessly clean, with a fridge, a safe and a/c. The bathroom is small, and doesn't offer much privacy if you are a couple as the door is of glass and there is a gap all the way around but if that is not a problem for you, then the rest of the amenities are fine. Shower was good and powerful with plenty of hot water.

The receptionist is there from 9 until 9 and you don't have all the services available to you that you would in a hotel, but you don't pay hotel prices either. Everyone speaks a very high level of English and are super friendly. Linens are clean and fresh and the room clean but simple.

I tried one night with the balcony doors open, but got defeated by the mosquitoes, the 2nd night I used the a/c which was too efficient and I had to get up to turn the temperature up, the 3rd night was peaceful and comfortable. Blankets are available in the cupboard area of the room.

I would highly recommend this place. The room is exactly like the photo on the website. It is small, clean and simple but well priced. It is not luxury but it is everything you could want. Coffee is available for a small price from a nespresso machine in reception. If you want luxury, pay more and go to a hotel, but it would be a shame because this is a little hidden gem.

So my husband booked one night here through Booking.com as he was in Barcelona on business. When he turned up they didn't have his booking but told him his booking was for over one month ahead. A genuine mistake on my husband's behalf. Unfortunately they didn't have availability for that night so he had to go somewhere else which ofcourse was expected but the hotel wouldn't refund any of the 279 euros paid for the one night which is over a month ahead. This is terrible customer service, it would be fair if they would have refunded a min of 50 % which means they could easily sell the room again and they would keep us as customers for repeat business. That way everyone would be happy.
