Not even worthy of a star! I booked for my partner and I to visit Barcelona, we travel at least 3-4 times a year and have stayed in hotels, b&bs, air bnbs all over the world and not naive in the reflection of price pays for what you get, But this place was something else!!
The only thing that this hostel has going for it is the location, we walked everywhere and there is easy metro points, bus routes and amazing gem restaurants within short walking distances.
Do not take any notice of the photographs, like a good photoshop of an insta model the place is nothing like what it portrays. The hip vibe that it portrays itself as is long gone if it ever was there!
The rooms had rules, padlocked bay windows with broken air conditioning units as if this was not bad enough the smell of a cheap fried chicken stall over took the room and seaped into our clothes and the bedding like flies on poop. This was coming through the drains, could not be stopped and literally gag worthy!
The ‘terrace’ was not open and the ‘chill out zone’ with the snooker table covered like a murder scene and no sign of the table tennis??
There was the offer of two free drinks on arrival, however we were then told that the ‘bar’ wouldn’t be open till Wednesday evening, our last night, however after seeing the state of the offerings of breakfast which was only €4.50 I don’t think I would even sip the ale through a straw never mind drink from the glass it was served in. (The only people we saw eat the buffet style offering were staff members)
The rules on the back of the door stated to be quiet after 11:30 pm but yet the location of the place is always noisy, which is fine but don’t portray to promote quiet time when your own staff drink and run up and down the corridors with other guests!
The cleanliness well the photos speak for themselves, mould, unwashed bedding, scum around the ceiling and floors, never mind the bathroom timed light which turns off if your having a long pee so literally peeing in the dark!
The shower is also timed, don’t even bother trying to relax, it was a game of multi task one hand on the button to keep the water on and the other trying to wash your bits!
Ooo just thought of a positive, the staff did print tickets for us and the vending machine did a small but good coffee for 80c.
My fella now has a one up on me for booking the worst location ever! Fingers crossed love holidays will take down this as a choice of accommodation so others don’t book!

My brother had never stayed in a hostel before. This was a good intro to one. It was clean, we didn't need our own locks for the lockers, the roof has a great view. There's a plaza nearby that is a meeting spot for several different walking tour companies --plus there's also a grocery store close by. A bar right downstairs was super convenient as well. Would definitely stay there again when/if I'm back in Barcelona.

I stayed at the hostel for the third time this July and plan on going every summer for the rest of my life.

Every time I travel to Barcelona, I come alone and the staff and other guests are the most welcoming, generous and kind people I have ever met. Alexis, Malachi, Olya, Diego, Matias and so many more staff really helped to make my trip the best it could be. They were more like friends than staff! I stayed in the all-female dorm which is quite comfortable. The rooms have AC, a private washroom (although the hot water was limited this year....), a makeup vanity, and huge electronic lockers big enough to fit my suitcase.

This hostel is in the perfect location (near shopping, tourist attractions, transportation lines) and I always feel safe.
