Great location, nice staff, beautiful city!

Reviewed Dec 23, 2018
The room was a bit small, for my partner and I's taste, however, the hotel is quite beautiful and affordable. The staff has been quite accommodating and they are very helpful in terms of helping us navigate through the city via public transportation. They speak English, for those who do not speak Spanish (like my partner.) Although the hotel does not have a bar, there is one conveniently located across the street as well as many others that are just a very short walk down the street/around the block. Breakfast is 16 each morning, unless you choose to have it here everyday then it is only 11 euros a day (which my partner and I decided to choose since it is conveninelty located on the first floor and is buffet style so you make sure you leave for your daily adventures with a full stomach with all the calories needed to burn. If you are a light sleeper, you will want a room located in the back of the hotel since the front rooms get all the noise from the street (yes, even from the top floor.) As for amenities, you can see what you get from their website, the only addition I would have liked would have been a microwave so that I do not have to bother the front desk staff to warm up my leftovers every night when I stay up late watching Laker game or if I get home late from a discoteca (night club) without stopping for a bite. The wifi is excellent.
As for location, the hotel is just a short walk from the Diagonal (basically the main street of Barcelona with many restaurants and stores for shopping fanantics.) It is also just a short walk to many bus stops and the train station (which we have been using to get to Las Ramblas (market area) and Barceloneta, the beach neighborhood.)
Overall, I would stay here again and would recommend to those wanting to visit this lovely city,

Room Tip: If you want a view of the street, choose a room in front, but expect some noise. If not, back...

Pretty well located in Barcelona--quiet residential area. Rather long walk to most attractions and not too close to metro. Plenty of taxis in the area and many good bus routes if you are up to that. Hotel is clean and neat. Rooms are small but beds are comfortable and the place is great for sleeping which visiting Barcelona. Staff is friendly and helpful and all speak good English. Breakfast buffet is quite nice but not complimentary for Marriott status holders (although if you are Platinum you get 16 euros off each day of your stay). The rate is much better than that for hotel more centrally located.

Room tip: We were hight floor on main street and heard nothing.

Stayed four nights. Two cost 210 euros each. No bar, no restaurant in this hotel except the breakfast room. No breakfast before 8am on Sunday and you will not be reimbursed if you have prepaid for breakfast. Breakfast is basic continental, nicely presented.
Rooms clean but basic, minimalist. Bed comfortable. Shower quite spacious and simple.
Overall, fine if you are not into frills, but I’m not sure that it’s good value for money.

The neighborhood is a perfect Barcelona location. The hotel was modern. The rooms were clean and spacious (for Europe). We thoroughly enjoyed the buffet breakfast each morning. The espresso machine in the room was a great touch. It was super easy to get to all the various city transportation options from this hotel. Mostly I wanted to write this review to mention how incredibly helpful Sergio, the front desk manager, was. He gave us very good directions for everything we wanted to do around the city, including step, by step instructions on how to get to Montserrat by public transportation. Can't wait to go back!

Room tip: We had 2 rooms on an upper floor overlooking the Calvet - perfect street view.

My wife and I stayed three nights at this Hotel and found it to be quite pleasant. It was about a 35 Euro taxi ride from BCN and it is about a ten minute taxi ride to Sants Rail Station.

Check in was efficient and the person was very hospitable and helpful in suggesting local restaurants.

The room was modern and clean. Only one issue. Appears they put in new laminate floors and it was difficult to open the bathroom and shower doors.

Th closest subway metro is about a 10 minute walk and will bring you to all Barcelona has to offer.

Pleasant Hotel and would stay here again.

If you have an upper floor room, than all is good, as area has a lot of nightlife. Rooms are functional and small but warm ambient and clean. Nespresso coffee machine and complementary water is supplied. All amenities you need too. Overall, a good hotel to stay one or two nights for one person. It's not super close to the touristy area, but fairly easy to take public transportation.
