We found this hotel in October, 2021 for a pre cruise stay. The location, price, and facilities were wonderful.
We booked again this May, for 3 nights post cruise. Again, all staff from Front Desk and Housekeeping, to Restaurant breakfast staff are excellent.
The location next to the Rambla Poblenou is a perfect, non tourist area. We bought a two day Metro pass for 16 Euros each and went all over the city on light rail, subway, bus, and even two funiculars!
Apparently, during our days of sightseeing, I was having a minor stroke… If you are interested, I’ve copied the details below… bottom line is you want to stay at a hotel where the staff cares about your medical health…
“Ms. Cristina Gomez and Mr. Julio Morales are to be commended for their quick and decisive actions during my medical emergency on Tuesday morning, May 31, 2022.
I was feeling very poorly when my wife and I checked out for our flight back to the United States. During the taxi ride to El Prat, my wife asked the driver to return to the Four Points Sheraton. She went to the desk and approached Ms. Cristina Gomez to explain the problem. Ms. Gomez and Mr. Morales immediately recommended the Hospital del Mar for their ability to support English speaking travelers.
After calling a taxi, Mr. Morales and Ms. Gomez both went outside with us to assist in getting into the taxi for our trip to the hospital. They ensured that our multiple bags of luggage were secured in your storage area.
The hospital diagnosed that I had suffered a minor stroke and that immediate attention was necessary for my health and future recovery. My prognosis is good.
It takes great human relations skills to work at a hotel front desk. I am sure that Ms. Gomez and Mr. Morales deal with a wide variety of critical issues every day. However, my medical situation was close to life threatening.
Ms. Gomez and Mr. Morales are to be commended for their decisive and quick actions during my medical emergency. They are outstanding representatives of your hotel.
