Boutique Hotel with Minor Issues

I typically dont write negative reviews and always try to look at the positive side of any hotel we stay in. However this one hit us with such a bit defect that I had to rate this 2 star. While the hotel itself is a beautiful boutique hotel with a classy touch of Design, our stay was not as comfortable as we hoped to be. Otherwise it is a great value for money, for the price we paid!

LOCATION: Excellent location right off the main drag of LA RAMBLA!

DINE + DRINK: Nice Lobby level Restaurant and Bar

ROOM: We stayed in 911, so this review is based on that; VIEW: restricted view of the cityscape from a tiny window!; SIZE: Very spacious room; AIR-CON:The BIGGEST DOWNSIDE of this hotel was the Non functional AIr conditioning system. No matter what we tried we couldnt make the room cooler. WE even left the window open and turned off the air con (as instructed by the staff), but the Room was so hot like a SAUNA, making it very difficult to sleep!!! ; BED: Comfortable bed; BATHROOM: Stand in shower; TOILETRIES: Good Cosmetics by SCANDINAVIAN WHITE brand

FACILITIES: Compact Gym with a basic range of weights and Cardio machines . Dont get fooled by the picture in the online websites, it is just a small room with a basic set. The rooftop Pool (infinity) comes with Spectacular views of the city, however since it is outdoor can be used only in warm weather!

SERVICE: Friendly staff that took care of all my needs with a smile and made us feel at home and well taken care of.

HOW WIRED YOU WILL BE: Free high speed Wi-Fi that works well all over the property. Big Plasma TV screen dishing out dozens of channels spanning sports, news, music, movies and a wide variety of entertainment in primarily SPANISH

Great location, room and staff

Arrived early to find our room was ready. The staff were very helpful and the room was great, lovely clean and comfortable. Excellent value for money. It is located 5 min walk from La Rambla and Para Lel metro station so right in the heart of were you need to be for visiting the city.

Andante excellent in every respect

Well located hotel with excellent environmental credentials, friendly staff, functional but comfortable room. Only shortcoming - no muesli at breakfast. Tip: always search on highest guest rating. We’d certainly go again.

Room tip: Worth upgrading for the stunning view.

Me and my dad's trip

Very nice but pool not heated and no place to have dinner inside hotel but I absolutely loved it and the breakfast as it had lots of choice and would stay again. These couple of changes could take it to a higher star. Would recommend and Thank you

Thank you for sharing your experience in Tripadvisor.

As you mentionned, we only serve breakfast in Andante Hotel but the hotel is located in the heart of Barcelona and our staff will be pleased to recommend a lot of good places closed to the hotel (less than 10 minutes walk) for lunch and dinner. The plunge pool is not heated but it's open during all the year and if persons dare to enter in the water in winter, they will enjoy an impressive view of Barcelona.

We really hope to see you and your dad again, please do not hesitate to contact us for your next trip in Barcelona.

Jan visit

Just came back from a long weekend in Barcelona, where we stayed at the Andante. The hotel is in a good location, about 4 mins walk from La Ramblas and the same distance to the nearest tube station. The staff were very friendly and informative, a special thanks to Barry who worked upstairs on the 11th floor at the bar who kept us topped up and gave us a great service. The roof top terrace is very impressive and can imagine very busy in summer. The hotel is spotless and well kept. The room we had was a great size and the shower / bathroom very modern and large too. Really can’t complain about this hotel, especially for the money we paid! A few areas that could improve the stay would be..

1) Tea / Coffee and a kettle in the room (maybe a British thing)

2) good iron and ironing board, the one from reception wasn’t a steam iron and the iron board was a mini one

3) A bar in the downstairs reception area would be a welcome addition
