Old building in the Gothic Quarter, close to alot. Yes, it is a basic hotel so don't expect much. We unfortunately had a room whose window looked at 3 walls and was so depressing. They offered to move us (had already unpacked) and husband said "it would be okay" but it was bad. Small bed, scratchy sheets. Thank you for changing out noisy fridge and small tv. Tiny light in bathroom...so dark. Plus side was that it was fairly quiet and front desk help nice. First time in Barcelona so did not know any better.

This hotel was well-situated close to some tourist areas as well as the port. The room was very clean and roomy enough for an overnight stay. We were surprised at the bountiful breakfast that was included in the reasonable room price. The hotel is located on La Rambla, which is a major street. There were taxis parked right outside and it is close to a metro station.

This is a budget hotel and you should keep that in mind when booking. This is NOT a Hilton or Hyatt. With that in mind, be realistic about what to expect for the price.

I really liked that the hotel was right on La Rambla. It was one of the places we wanted to visit before our Cruise. There are a ton of shops and restaurants just outside the hotel within walking distance. I did not feel unsafe at any time at this hotel or around this hotel.

The room I had was on Floor 2 and was very basic. It has all you need for a short stay. You can hear a lot of hallway noise and outside noise at all times, day and night. The AC unit (mini-split) worked great.

There is a basic free breakfast, but if you don't find something you like, there is a good pastry shop just outside the front door to the right.

The guys at the front desk are friendly and very helpful. They speak enough English to communicate and can make suggestions as needed.
