I won’t go into detail about the disgusting side of this Hotel as I am more concerned about the danger. Read other reviews for more info on that. Our room was so stuffy it was hard to breathe and there was an awful smell of chemicals in the bathroom, very overpowering in a room with no windows. However behind patio doors which were in the room was what looked like an empty lift shaft. It’s not actually a lift shaft but that’s the only way I can describe it. Now we were in room 704 on the 7th floor so you can imagine the drop. The door had no lock, just a catch that a child could easily open. Also absolutely no warning signs that there was a drop to your death behind those doors. There were bars which were very low and also had a gap at the bottom big enough for a toddler to slip through. I am totally shocked that this hotel is allowed to sell this room. Imagine waking at night for a wee, in an unfamiliar room, maybe after a few beverages and sliding this door open and falling to your death. It’s a disaster waiting to happen if it hasn’t already! I dread to think of youngsters staying here and messing about, a bit drunk! It really is very dangerous. We complained and the miserable rude receptionist said “that’s the room you booked”. I said “no I did not Book a room with a lift shaft in it.”
She refused to give us a refund and said that the hotel was full and the only other room we could have was an upgrade which we would have to pay €60 for.We did not want to pay any extra to stay in this awful place. She gave us another option which was to sleep there and in the morning speak to the manager. There was no way I was going to sleep in that death trap. I also asked if She could call the manager so I could speak to him but she said that she couldn’t do that.We went upstairs packed our bags and left. The hotel is booked through booking.com who also refused to give us a refund. So we had to pay out and book another hotel which we are not happy about but at least it was a nice hotel. The next day I returned Around 2 pm and asked to see the manager. It was the same miserable receptionist and she dabbled on her switchboard Then said the manager has already left and she won’t be in until the next day. So the manager who was a “he” is now a “she”. I left my phone number and asked for the manager to call me to discuss the problem, however to this day I have still heard nothing. Please do not stay here and please do not let your teenage children or young adults or anyone for that matter ever ever stay at this place. Take a look at the photos, how low the bars are and how big the gap at the bottom. Also no lock on the door just a catch.
