My partner & I stayed for 3 nights at Grums Hotel & Spa.
The receptionists were welcoming and helpful. - Spoke English well. When leaving at 4am for our flight home they was able to book a taxi for us no problem.
You are given a welcome drink voucher on arrival to use in the hotels bar. Limited choice. However, I had a small white wine, and my partner had a small local beer, which tasted nice. I can not comment on breakfast/ dinner as we ate out every day. I think the breakfast was around £12 pp/per day.
The rooms were clean and modern. The mood lights set the tone of the room. They had a kettle and mini fridge. Air con worked well. The shower was great. You had the choice of the rainfall head or normal head. The sink in the bedroom was unusual, but I quite liked this - it was easier to do my makeup/ hair in! The rooms came equipped with a hairdryer. The beds are very comfy. The only thing missing would have been a long mirror - unsure if they had ones in other rooms, but we didn't in ours - could have had one hung on the bathroom wall. Also, there are no plug sockets near the bed, which was not a problem for us, but I know some people would find this an issue.
As stated above, we were only on a short city break, so we did not have our room cleaned, so I could not comment if they had done these every day. However, we did see the housekeeper every morning working hard.
I can not comment on the spa as we did not use this. However, it looked relaxing. I think it was 16 euros per day to use.
The hotel is central to La Rambla - a 10-minute walk. There are plenty of bars and restaurants there. - beware of the prices in this area for drinks we was charged 51 euro for 2 steins of beer when told they was 16 euro each - the side streets have the best bars for 2.50 euro a pint/ 3 euro for a glass of wine. Bar manchester/ subrosa we found were lovely bars. There is a fun lively irish bar in the centre with live singers / dj on every night. However, prices were expensive, but it was worth it as a good pub!
If you don't fancy paying 35 euros for a taxi - the hotel is accessible from the airport via A2 BUS outside the airport (you pay for your ticket at the bus stop a lady goes along the que asking how many tickets you need) - you get off at PL. ESPANYA, then you get the L3 metro line , get off at paral-lel station, then it is a short walk.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Grums Hotel & Spa, and we would definitely stay again if we were in Barcelona.
