We just stayed one night on short notice after we were rebooked on a flight to Barcelona after our original flight to a different city was cancelled. It was reasonably priced for an urban hotel, in a good location with plenty of restaurants and bakeries in walking distance, and right next to a subway stop. The room was nice, small but not tiny, clean, and there is a pleasant roof deck with bar and a wading pool.

We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights in June to attend the concerts at the Olympic Stadium. The hotel is in an excellent area for this and also for the convenience of public transport. Plenty of cafes, shops and bars around to choice from which is good because the coffee bar in the hotel is very rarely open which is a great shame.
Check in was ok but then I received a phone call in the room to go to reception. When I got there I was told at check in they forgot to take my credit card details for any add ons. I then had to go back to the room to get my credit card and return to reception to give the details. Quite poor to forget something so important. The other BIG disappointment was the menu in the restaurant due to lack of allergy and veggie/vegan choices. No reference to allergies whatsoever. We were offered a little appetiser each and when I asked if it was veggie the waitress looked shocked and said no it’s meat. Then looking at the menu there was nothing I could eat as a vegetarian. The only thing was a starter which I had to have as a main. Really bad in this day and age not to ask about allergies and to display them clearly on the menu having said that the food we had was very good.
Check out was a mess too as they did,nt have any record of me when I gave the key in, not surprising as it was the same guy who had checked me in.
Overall a lovely hotel, very comfy beds and very clean and in a perfect location.

Very good location near a metro station and buses (I didn't have a car). the room was clean, modern, and a little tight. It did have a a large bathroom. Bag storage and hanger space was small and that makes this size room only good for solos like myself or a couple who travel very light. Breakfast was nicely presented (I ate there once). As to noise, the hotel is located on a main street with lots of people coming and going and hanging out at the restaurants and bars that line it. It did seem to quiet down and I was not disturbed. I would definitely consider this hotel for another stay.

Front desk personnel were awesome! Dani & Fernanda were both super helpful! Also the front desk assistant (I don't remember his name) cut the lock on my luggage for me after I had mistakenly reset the combination and couldn't open it. He was a lifesaver! Breakfast was buffet style and offered a wide variety of foods. Delicious! Fresh baked breads & pastries, meats & cheeses, scrambled eggs and boiled eggs, a wide assortment of fruits & juices. There were 2 coffee machines with custom coffee, espresso, hot chocolate, etc. The front lobby sitting area was inviting with comfortable seating. It is decorated in a hygge style which was calming & quiet. I'm not sure what air freshener system they use, but the lobby smelled amazing. We liked that the elevator requires your room key card in order to operate it. Our room had a comfortable queen bed with duvet. There was also a clothes steamer which was so convenient. We had heard that European hotel rooms are smaller than US, but overall the room was fine. Bathroom was a decent size and the shower had both rain showerhead and handheld. Top quality toiletries were provided including shower cap and toothbrushes. We knew to bring our own washcloths since these usually aren't found in European hotels. Hotel also had a rooftop pool and bar, but we stayed busy during the day with tours so were unable to check those out. We would definitely stay at the Occidental 1929 again if traveling to Barcelona.
